they'll just go cheap and broadcast a classic rock radio station through the speakers

(and they can even have "special events" like... Halloween would fall at the end of... ROCKTOBER!)

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band is really the only choice to replace Aerosmith with. 'Born to Run' is generally regarded as the best and most epic/legendary rock song of all time, with 'Thunder Road' close behind. Plus, the band members now are no where as messed up (drugs, alcohol, ______) as most other "bands" are today.

I even have a great song for the ride, "Dancing in the Dark."

Floyd wouldn't work they aren't together anymore and stop touring it would be a miricle but david gilmor still plays acousitically and rocks.

rush would be fun to see but it will never happen but they are more a family oriented band then aerosmith period.
the band members are like family to each other.

yes is a good choice too but you want to stick w/ rock and prog would probaly go out the window b/c no one knows what good music is anymore.
so that kills my end of this conversation.

If it were to ever happen, Bon Jovi would be the logical choice. However, I wouldn't mind Iron Maiden. In fact, I'd ride it even more because of that.

Other choices:
KISS
Ozzy
Led Zeppelin
Guns N Roses
Van Halen

One can dream...

KISS would be VERY cool.. I can see that... Ozzy would be good too, but now you cant get Ozzy w/o Sharon, Jack or attention demander Kelly. I'd have to disagree w/ Zepp because they're overplayed... GNR would be the best choice imo but since Axl owns the rights to GNR it'd be a no go unless it was the Axl Ride. Besides, Axl would be more appropriate taking the witch's spot in Snow White wouldn't he? He looks like a bad medical experiment now.. Val Halen yes.. Van Hagar no... I like Sammy solo but not w/ VH.

Jmaxwell007: oohhhhhhhhh i got it. POISON! i dont think brett michaels is doing much. he could probably work the ride and send people off into the darkness of the tunnel.

LOL Actually, Bret & the guys tour every summer. They're still hitting the road & packing them in. I wouldn't mind seeing Poison or even Warrant, but then again I'm biased. I love the 80s bands.

civileng68: I dont know but I sure hope it's a wholesome family type of band. I will be extremely disappointed if they bring a new popular band in that has made a mockery of themselves (Britney, Justin, and on and on)

I would protest that til I was blue in the face. I suppose technically they could because they were all Mousketeers but that'd be SO lame it'd prolly only appeal to the teenybopper age.

Oh ya and Lee.... Whitesnake toured last year too LOL They're not as forgotten as ya think.

Some other bands I'd throw into the hat...

Ted Nugent..hehe just use the long version of stranglehold and you'd have a ride right there. I think he might be a Disney pick because he's always been an advocate of clean living & all that good stuff. As far as *I* know he's never been in trouble with the law.... his very public political stances might work against him though. I don't think Disney would want someone public about politics marring the park. (I couldn't word it quite right, but you get the general idea).

 I've got one... since I couldn't think of any other bands that Disney wouldn't frown upon...... The Riverbottom Nightmare Band from Emmit Otter. Disney DOES own the Disney rights now don't they?

That'd be the only way to do it!! In all honesty, (I love Aerosmith very much too by the way) but KISS puts on a better show than Aerosmith & I bet they could really make that ride even better. We saw KISS & Aerosmith together and KISS blew us away! Aerosmith was obviously good but coming out AFTER KISS was anti-climatic I guess you could say. KISS has a ton of character & they could easily make a good ride better.

As I posted in a similar thread yesterday, DCA is likely to see RnRC by 2008 or so.
A tenative agreement has been reached with a band for the ride, but not Aerosmith. More of a LOCAL band, if you catch my drift.

I totally agree with you all I listen to is Floyd, Rush, and other Progressive/Psychdellic music. Do you ever listen to Tool or Radiohead becuase both of them are amazing new Prog bands. Even though neither them would ever do a sponsorship with disney becuase they hate publicity.

Stranglehold is an amazing song if they used the 8 minute version or however long it is it would work so good. They could do it where one ride is the main intro, and if you ride it again you might listen to the whole solo/interlude, and another ride could be the outro. Becuase theres no way they could fit that whole song in on one ride.

well in my opinion, i think Aerosmith is THEE perfect band for the ride. Their songs fit so well with the roller coaster....Plus- Aerosmtih is my #1, favorite band and i would be heartbroken if RnR was ever changed!:(

Nico

I think Nico's 'these days' would be great. Just that song though. Too bad she isn't alive any more to rerecord (the LP is a little fuzzy).

Peter, Paul and Mary would be hip. They're putting out some good stuff, same with Fleetwood Mac. Carpenters wouldn't be a bad choice either.
