Adventureland Smoking Section Removed

Each land (or area) needs - as in needs - an off the path smoking area. Then everyone's happy.

Walt put trash cans everywhere to keep litter off the floor. Having properly spaced, designated areas for smoking should do the same. Take them away and smokers won't stop. They just do it anyway. The U.S. isn't the world. In a lot of cultures smoking is still part of everyday normality.

Like I said better to control than a free for all.

Good point, but until then I think having the two where they are works better than leaving the Adventureland one open, or closing them all.

I made the same point about Walt and his seemingly "insane" trash can point earlier...

At least I know I'm not insane...am I?

The issue with the Adventurland placement was where it was. Smoking areas do NOT need to be in major traffic areas.

I can pull up a map of MK and outline several unused areas at MK that would make fantastic "off the road" smoking sites.

It's not that MK has an issue for them...they have land to spare still...

I still find it funny that threads don't come up about any other park and THEIR smoking sections.

Only MK...why do they keep moving them around?

Because MK is so outdated it hurts:bawling::bawling:

That's because they actually put money into Disneyland, but not MK:bawling: I'm surprised they actually made a new hub though to be honest.
The MK gets major investments...it's cycles.

Here's where I'll call @marni1971 into it.

The way they've been shoving smoking sections around at MK is really bad...they need to do like Disneyland, design them, set them, and make them....it's better for all involved.

The fact is, the placement of MK smoking sections the past few years has been terrible. Along walkways, etc.

The only one that is any good (even SMOKERS say this) is the one between birthdayland and tomorrowland.

Very true they need to, but know one can deny that even though MK has more people visiting Disneyland park has Indy, Star Tours, Matterhorn, and soon to be Star Wars as major e tickets. Sure Disney has equivalents or clones at other parks, but MK should at least have more rides to replace those then if you know what I mean.

I'm not sure what this has to do with rides...

Planning the guest experience is part of planning infrastructure.

It's not apples to oranges, as you can walk out to DTD or over to DCA so easily...

My point is that they make them available and do so in a way that is conducive to smokers and non-smokers.
Right. They've done a much better job at Disneyland at doing that for sure, and Everythig is within walking distance like DLP, but at MK there are only two smoking areas left in the park, so I guess that is why it is news. Anyway off to bed it is really late. Anyways great talking to you. ¡Hasta Mañana!

It would be enforceable, just not easily. Disney would not want to pay the cost in personnel or the dissatisfaction of the small percentage of customers who still smoke. Smoking is prohibited at most, if not all open air baseball stadiums. So being an outdoor park means little. It can be done. See the underlined text about being asked to leave or ejected
Would I call stadiums a good comparison to a theme park? I'd say not.
  1. Stadiums aren't typically used for twelve or more hours.
  2. Stadiums aren't as large as a theme park.
  3. A number of those stadiums still have smoking areas outside.
