Adventureland Rumors!!!

this really bites. I don't think Walt had this in mind when he came up his plans. I always head to Adventureland first to avoid the crowds then work my way around. If I want to be with a gazillion people I'd go to Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

I don't know whether it still does but I remember going to DLP and Main St. was the only area open for ages. It didn't make much difference I just did the shopping first.

Accourding to MousePlanet, Adventureland will open a hour later then the rest of the park. Adventureland will also remain vacant during E-Ticket nights, so that means no Pirates late at night during E-Ticket. :(

Paul Pressler decided this. He thought nobody would really notice but if they roped off Fantasyland or Tomorrowland, people would be extremly upset.

Well, if you want to get technical, Walt never had any of WDW in mind really. He had agreed to build the MK but he really didn't want to. The rest of what is there pretty much just expands on what he didn't want to do in the first place :)

By the way, the EE for resort guests, annual passholders, etc...is a farce....anyone with a valid ticket can walk thru those gates and hit the rides early.

Really? I am not there very much during the week but I remember being at one park, I think it was Epcot and they had a separate line that they were letting resort guests in through while the rest of us had to wait. I have an AP and they never advertised us getting any kind of early entry. I know that on days that they don't have resort early entry you can get into most of the parks early - I won't go into a lot of detail on that through, because it's a nice thing to take advantage of to avoid crowds in the morning... Disney doesn't really let it be known, either ;)

I don't visit Adventureland during the morning, so I guess it really bother me too much.

It will bother you when the remaining already over-crowded 2 square feet that opens with the park becomes that much worse!

I'm with Marcia.....it's nice to get into Adventureland while everyone else is sprinting for the mountains.

One thing that drove us nuts this year was the inconsistency of the park hours...constantly changing them day to day, or so it seemed. Example...mgm closed at 10 except on E-ride nights at the Magic Kingdom, then it closed at 9. AK closed at 6 for half our vacation, then closed at 5 the rest. Magic kingdom closed at 10 most nights except one or two nights it closed at 11 and we still don't know why. Epcot was consistent.

By the way, the EE for resort guests, annual passholders, etc...is a farce....anyone with a valid ticket can walk thru those gates and hit the rides early.

I don't know about anyone else...but I LOVED it when the Magic Kingdom was open til 1 a.m. . I would rather pay a little more for the tickets and have the park open late then this crap of shortening the hours.

Yep I am with you guys on this one too. I always head over to Adventure Land first - nice and easy start to the day.

It just really gets to me why they are constantly and steadily reducing operating hours. It's not like there isn't more and more to do is it? Perhaps thats the plan, reduce hours, which means that people can't do all they want, which means they will have to come back, which in turn means that they will buy longer duration passes.

Theyre sneaky......thats probably the reason too. I never head over there first so this whole thing doesnt bother me too much........but if they kepp reducing hours on everything like they do the parks will never be open! Maby theyre not generatin enought traffic in adventurland and figure this is a way to get more ppl in. When you cant get something you want it more.......so maby thats what disneys plan is.
