Additional Info on "The Laugh Floor" storyline

I think the Laugh Floor is an interesting idea as far as using the Monsters Inc. concept and the existing 'show' building of Timekeeper. But why not go one step further and make it something similar to what the Diamond Horseshoe used to be?

An indoor show that also happened to be a counter service restaurant? I know from personal experience that Cosmic Ray's or the Asian retheme of food at Tomorrowland Terrace (forgot if it got a rename, forgive me) doesn't always suit all Tomorrowland visitors searching for food in the hot Florida sun.

Why not an indoor, air conditioned cold sandwich and salad serving Monster's INc. Themed show?

They could fly with the theme as far as the food and drinks and make it really look like a comedy club with little tables and dim lighting. They can even have Sully or another non well known monster do a Seinfeldesque kind of show about nothing which could always change based on the season or whatnot.

I just think there's more potential there for more than a full show. I actually did like Timekeeper (just wished there was seating) and think that the continuation of keeping that building a show isn't all that bad an idea.

This is just my 2cents so think of it what you will.

I might go on it once so I have reason to moan about it after it opens. And complain about the horrible theme idea all through the line and getting off the ride ;.

Just think - if it as horrible as Stich we can refer to the area as Tomorrowland's "blackhole of funny" or the "walkway of tears" or something.

We'll sell pins and buttons, we'll be rich.

I have thought that if this attraction does turn out to be a dud, you'll have SGE, Monsters Inc and the Noodle Station all in a row. Sounds like a walkway of tears to me. But surely this won't be in the same league as SGE :lookaroun

I was like that for a trip or two. Now I get a kick out of looking at the SGE queue, or lack thereof ;)

Maybe they will put a big blue fur coat on Timekeeper. And make Nine-Eye into One-Eye.

I have a feeling they will combine some of the 4D effects from shows like ITTBAB and the 3D interactive experience from Turtle Talk, and create a one of a kind interactive experience.

There are soooo many people who complain waaaaaay too much. Why not wait and see what this attraction will be like before passing judgment on it? Whats sad is some of you are one the one hand complaining about the reuse of technology and such, but then you turn around and say you would rather have a clone of the DL Monsters Inc ride. What kind of logic is that? :veryconfu

Its obvious may of you here are fans of the classic Disney dark rides, I am a huge fan of them myself. But as others have said, kids now adays are looking more for interactivity than a basic dark ride to sit and stare at stuff. Interactive attractions are to the newer generations, what dark rides were to ours. To down Disney for being innovative and trying new technologies that bring in the crowds is really selfish.

You would rather they build a dark ride to appeal to a small group of WDW fanatics, than build a new innovative attraction to appeal to the masses and thats just sad in my opinion.:confused:

And you know if Disney made a clone of the dark ride, they would be on here complaining about a cloned ride and not some new technology.

Lol, I wish the ones who keep saying everyone needs to just wait and see before passing judgement would also quit telling me how awesome this attraction is going to be in their opinion.

If they are unwilling to hear others say that they are disappointed with the intial information being given, why should there opinons of awesomeness be allowed without riding.

Oh yeah this is a discussion board, where people post opinions. Get over it.
I'm excited to see what they come up with, but the initial information leaves me believing I'll be disappointed.

Yes, I think EVERYONE would rather have a new attration, even a lame one, rather than just an empty unused building.

Actually thinking about this, I'd rather have the empty 20k lagoon to look at than Ariel's meet and greet area or Pooh's acre woods (If you consider them attractions).

That is exactly what I was thinking! It is funny that some people complain about the rehashing of types of rides, but then to hear that those same people would prefer a dark ride--of a clone, I might add, (which, if memory serves, dark rides are also a rehash of an idea that's used in the parks as well) doesn't make much sense either.

We all have to remember, there are only a certain number of different types of atttractions that are available for theme parks to use. So technically, they are all rehashes of a ride that can be found somewhere else. Disney has this innovative technology...why not use it on a much larger scale?
