What's really gonna blow my mind...possibly beyond all repair?
When those two skeletons they found back at the beginning, the "Adam and Eve"...turn out to be the remains of Jack and Kate.

I honestly don't think that it will be that simple.......I really don't see it being Jack and Kate.

Next weeks ep is called 'The Little Prince', and I since I always avert my eyes before they play the preview for next week, I have no idea exactly what the ep is about. But based on the name, I would assume maybe something to do with Aaron maybe? Or Sun and Jin's baby? Or maybe even baby Charlie?

And I really don't see baby Charlie growing up to be Charlie Pace. That is too 'it was all a dream' for me.

Honestly, the new time travel element really has me worried that the writers are going to start using this to explain a bunch of mysteries on the island that we have been wondering about. Its the easy way out. Its insulting, and a waste of time if a big mystery is explained as 'it was due to time travel!'.

However, I have no doubt that if the writers have taken care of us for this long, they won't f it up this late in the game. Honestly, last weeks ep was possibly one of the best. These writers are brilliant.

Can't wait to see how they handled the Star Trek reboot!!!!

Producers have stated its not a dream so thats good :D

I doubt the writers would solve some of the biggest mysteries that way. That's way too boring and they know it. Now, with that four toed foot, my guess is that it may be from a civilization in the future that built it... since many scientists have stated that the pinky toe will one day disappear.. it might explain it.

I have confidence that they will use the time-traveling in a way that doesn't ruin the weirdness element of the island.

If you look here:

http://www.tv.com/lost/show/24313/e...pisodes;more&om_act=convert&om_clk=episodessh

They have the first 12 episodes rated with a score out of 10. None go below 8.6 and 8 of them are above 9. So up to the mid-season finale.... nothing is messed up yet.

The biggest commonly held theory right now is that in addition to Ms. Hawkings being Daniel's mother, Charles Widmore is his father..........

Is anyone else starting to have the horrible feeling that Desmond and Penny may have tragedy heading their way soon? I really hope not. I love them both. I really don't want them to split up/have one die. Or even worse; Penny doesn't want Desmond anymore, and leaves him taking little Charlie with her.......

Well, I've never seen LOST in my life, but the KP adventure seems like a good platform for a mini-attraction based on the show. Could it possibly be adapted to DAK?

I really don't think that a Lost attraction would really fit at AK.........

It would be right at home at DHS. Perhaps the backlot could be razed and Catastrophe Canyon somehow refitted? All that water and fire is just too cool to lose.

So it only took 4 Seasons to come up with a Time-Traveling Island.

:dazzle: :brick:

If one hasn't kept up with the show, I could see how the current direction o the show seems way out there. But really, like a hundred compass needles redirecting toward north, the clues very gradually came out so that the answer couldn't be anything but time-travel of some sort.

And rather than being a cop-out, it has been a natural extension of one of the basic formats of the show -- since the very first episode, we have seen flashbacks to characters' pasts. Sometime around season 3, the flashbacks became *literal* (one character became lucidly aware of them), and the show really kicked into high gear.

With all the weirdness currently going on, the show has remained remarkably true to its characters, who continue to be the main draw. It would be much more difficult to accept *any* of the strange goings on on the island if we didn't care about Jack, Sawyer, Hurley, and company. I think it''s amazing that the writers have even made us care deeply about characters who didn't show up until Season 2, and even Season 4!

And most intriguingly, the writers seem to have taken the approach that you *can't* change what's already happened, so there's no possibility that we'll get an alternate history result from all this time-travel business.

Back to topic, I believe LOST will have a satisfying finale, and when that happens, Disney will finally give possibilities for a theme park attraction a serious look.

Agreed. CC is kind of......pointless.....

I was SO ED when I found out that they had removed the exterior of the Golden Girls house from the backlot tour.........:fork:

Can you imagine the evening of the final two hour series finale? Its gonna be a media event.

Its gonna be even bigger than the Star Trek: Voyager finale. And let me tell you, that was a huge event.

Again...

There are shows out there that can actually TELL an Amazing story (Beginning, Middle, End, NOT Beginning, Middle until the viewers stop tuning in and they stop giving us cash, then End when the jig is up.), have just as-if-not-more developed and emotionally complicated characters, and get more done than in four seasons of Lost in ONE or TWO seasons. Their only crime is not being American or mainstream.

There is NO excuse in writing a TV show that you should ask of your viewers to watch more than four seasons to understand the story. At Season Two they dropped the ball and didn't live up to their end of the bargain: I watched TWO WHOLE SEASONS, and got no fulfillment whatsoever. Even if it's engaging, REALLY good WRITING should give you at least some clue to an overarching plot, not just a million clues to a bigger picture that will be revealed when at a time THEY choose.

If they REALLY cared about the story, then we would've seen the Season Finale a LONG time ago. You can't tell a "supposedly" Episodic Story like a sitcom.

I don't read Lost sites online to stay away from things like this ... but I have come to that conclusion myself.

It is very possible.

But also they like to throw you a curveball when you least expect it. we've seen it since Season 1 ... and really who ever could have foreseen what was down that hatch in the amazing opening to Season 2.

Is anyone else starting to have the horrible feeling that Desmond and Penny may have tragedy heading their way soon? I really hope not. I love them both. No ... I see upheavel for them. Desmond is a key as we knew from that first episode where he shifted through time. He will likely remain so right until the end.

I think this couple has more 'rooting' interest than anyone on the show and I doubt they'd split them up and ruin that ... of course Des did go on that race to get his honor back ... maybe the show ends with him dying to save everyone else and prove what a hero he is? Nah ... just joking with you!

You summed it up very well. Lost works so well because it has remained true to itself from Day 1 ... even when some 'fans' lost interest because they were getting more questions than answers ... even when casual viewers decided they'd rather watch crappy CBS procedurials because everything is answered and tied up with a bow in 60 minutes, usually in very predictable fashion.

So long as they stay true to themselves, I have no doubt I will continue to be entertained and enthralled with what they present. I also won't mind if they pull a whopper of a shocker out of their collective hats (I told a friend and fellow fan yesterday that I don't care if we find out the plane never even crashed ... provided they can explain it in a way that stays true to all they have said and done before ... there's always loopholes after all. Heck, maybe they were never supposed to crash. Remember, Mrs. Hawking told Desmond his one purpose in life was to sit in that hatch and enter those numbers every 108 minutes ... what happened on 9/22/04 when he DID NOT do what he was supposed to? He caused Oceanic 815 to crash ... maybe this whole thing is to 'fix' the timeline damage he caused. Or maybe I just ate and drank too much at my Super Bowl party ... but the point is, I trust the writers and producers because they've never let me down yet!)

Back to topic, I believe LOST will have a satisfying finale, and when that happens, Disney will finally give possibilities for a theme park attraction a serious look.

I truly doubt it. I think they could. But the desire isn't there. That I know for a fact.

Can I ask why? (I guess I just did)

Perhaps, fittingly so, as a WDW commercial is running on ESPN right now!

I sooooo disagree. If you didn't get anything out of the first two seasons than I'd suggest Lost just wasn't for you to begin with. To me, perhaps fittingly since this is a WDW forum, Lost is like the best theme park thrill attractions ... you never know exactly what you're going to get ... what's coming around the next corner.

As it turns out, there have been clues all along about where Lost was going (now, perhaps, not ultimately but I'd argue that is absolutely not needed) ... you should watch because you are engaged ... because you have to think ... because you care about the characters and want to learn more about them and see if they'll survive on this island.

If you need to know ultimately where the story is heading in order to get enjoyment then I'd again suggest Lost isn't for you.

But that doesn't make it bad by any stretch. It did, deservingly so, win the Emmy for best drama after its second season. And I think it should have been up for it last year as well.

If they REALLY cared about the story, then we would've seen the Season Finale a LONG time ago. You can't tell a "supposedly" Episodic Story like a sitcom.

OK. I'm convinced. Lost isn't for you. Perhaps reruns of the Golden Girls?
(since some other poster put that one on my mind and not because I love Betty White!)

Welcome newbie!

And you could always go back to your hotel room and watch Lost ... it is vacation after all and Lost is much better than most WDW rides! Or you could tape, DVR, TIVO etc ... and wait until you get back.

Or if you bring your computer you could watch it online.

Oh, and just saw your other post looking for advice ... I'll try and offer some tomorrow too late now!

Alright...somebody get me a phonebook. I gotta give Anime-boy a good beatin'.

Lost is almost a perfect show to me. Multi-layer plot. Great characters. Superb writing. Give me more than two seasons, but have an ending in sight to make sure to get the whole story told.
Love it.

My pet peeve...killing a show in mid story. I am STILL trying to figure out what would have happened to the folks in Deadwood! (Won't even go into my Firefly pains....)
