A YouTube themed area...

Kind of amusing how y'all are trying to be the ones to say "grow up" in a way that's not really helping, like, at all. Kind of wanting the argument to keep moving forward.

TBH -- I would have rather just deleted the thread as a whole. Internet fights are endless, stupid and pointless. Of course me being that "easily offended teenager" will easily get steamed off after countless of sarcastic insults, there should be a "delete thread" option so that I just don't have to deal with it.
You really don't get it do you? Such is the case for the home schooled.

When you or anybody start a thread, that thread then becomes the property of the forum.

The OP does not own the thread, he cannot control what people say. He is not a moderator of that thread.

Or perhaps I'm just out of touch with the way young people think that "their" internet works.

The only one taking this as some fight is you.

I dunno, I sortof thought it was a rather interesting thread with discussion. Scrolling through, the only sarcastic comments I read were people saying that others "don't understand youtube" and the like, but even that went into a more nuanced discussion about Maker studios and other things. Nothing really "blew up" until towards the bottom of the last page...so, not really seeing where you are getting that from.

With one exception, my post on page 1 certainly was "sarcastic", but you can ignore that, cause I'm old and crotchety and I've been on the net since the early 90s (yes, the early 90s) and watched it evolve (including when Break and ebaums were the video kings, well before youtube was even a sparkle in someones eye).

That said, that's my opinion. I could see a Maker's Studio presence as a small shop or section of a larger media shop having some limited success, but not a complete overhaul of DisneyQuest as a viable option.

Unique idea though. But, just because people didn't take to it, doesn't mean that they are personally attacking you, nor does it mean that they didn't ponder it before deciding they didn't like it (even if their response was a thumbs down gif).

If you think the idea is solid, defend it. But, there's no reason to take it personally when no one criticized you until you decided to ad hom (and, also missed my sarcasm with my post on page one).

Pretty good point learned there.

I have a hard time finding the practicality with the idea.
And is YouTube honestly a thing you want to visit when you go Disney?

Kind of more like something to see that a large group of people are into. Many various exhibits themed to different youtube channels and videos. It's just something you have to be into I guess. Think of it like the older Hollywood Studios attractions...

"Who wants to be a millionaire play it" or "American Idol Live" for people who have always wanted to be in one of those game shows or see how different version of film-making can be done such as special effects or green screen usage and such. An example could be somewhere I saw a video on Youtube where kids would sit on top of a bee model in front of a green screen acting like they're jerking around and then the video pops up as if they were in the movie.

Or interactive exhibits that would be themed around Nigahiga's "how to be gangster/ninja/ect" videos. I was just thinking about how fun all of these different exhibits would be and all of the possible events that could happen.

imho I think it's more about some wanting to fawn over pewdiepie or Smosh and get their autograph.

Which, if it's something they want to do, Youtube already does host creator conferences where you can go do just that.
Yeah it's called Playlist Live and it's only a couple blocks away from Disney World. It seems like a good time if you're into that type of thing which I am, but have never been in Disney in February when the convention is going on.

You know these names?
I do. I'm subscribed to Smosh (though their stuff has gradually gotten worse as their popularity has increased, anymore I just see it pop up on my subscriptions and skip over it). I'm familiar with pewdiepie, but could never sit through more than a few minutes of his videos. But, I'm not fond of playalongs either.

I lean towards the first gen creators, myself. Boogie2988, ERPBOH, cinemasins, and the ones that left for Blip, like many of the channelawesome people (Nostalgia Critic, Linkara, etc.) and AngryVideoGameNerd. And, to some extent PhillyD (though he sat right in the middle of that migration right when youtube was cracking down with it's copyright bots that caused the first mass migration of content creators to other platforms)...

Buzzfeed, in particular, is getting incredibly bad, to the point where I may unsubscribe from them.

It think so too. Which, as I stated before, is popular for a fairly narrow audience.

The video you saw of the kids sitting on a bee was part of the Back Lot Tour at Hollywood Studios.

I've been the kid on that bee.

Smosh imo was only good the first couple years of YouTube.

I thought I was the only one xD

Channelawesome still updates their YouTube page, though.
For a VERY long time they didn't. As in, they started that recently (for various reasons).

The move of them to ScrewAttack / Blip and later consolidation under Blip and tgwtg was a really big deal...in 2008. :P

They've only recently (like, within the last year after the rebranding under the common channelawesome banner) started to test the waters with youtube again.

...Practicality is still lacking. I just simply cannot see it.

I can see how that would have happened. I discover AVGN first a couple of years ago and Nostalgia Critic like last year. Watched every one of his reviews, I never cared for the rest of Channelawesome reviewers though.

It makes sense to try testing YouTube again, considering that many other channels are doing the same thing as he originally did without having problems.
