A YouTube themed area...

If you are still passionate about this project, I highly suggest that you, WondersOfLife, just leave this thread as is, and in a month or so comeback with all the great criticism people have given you and show off your idea/design for a YouTube themed area. Do your research and learn how not to get offended so easily. And you know what, they still may not like the idea, and that's ok. Maybe they'll just appreciate the work that went into it, and not the concept. As someone who has been burned by these forum fights in the past, I suggest not letting their criticism get to you, and just nod and agree.
Dreamfinder, this thread was not originally created here. It was moved which is why there has been so many pages of hostile content.

While I do enjoy sitting down and watching hours of YouTube videos a day, I don't like this idea at all. Watching YouTube for entertainment is kind of taboo these days because of all the stupid videos that become popular. I also think that YouTube as a platform is not generally seen as a place for genuine entertainment but as a way to get a quick 1 minute laugh. And on the side of the actual content creators, they are looked down upon by almost every other medium because of how quick it is to make a quick buck. This idea is cemented by all the comments above about how "YouTube Stars" are rubbish.

I don't see what the problem with that would be. YouTube is just another entertainment medium. People sit on their couches and watch television and play video games for hours, so I really don't see the problem in the first place. Also that comment supports mine in which I say YouTube is a taboo. I myself watch at least a hour of YouTube a day from time accumulating.

Also, don't feel too old! Because of the internet, cultural shifts diffuse almost instantly. Me, a 17 year old, and you, an 25 year old, probably have more generational differences than you and your parents. Fads come so much more quickly now that the idea of designating names to generations has become preposterous after the millennial's.

I may be a lone voice but I use You Tube to watch the glorious world of BBC Documentaries. You-Tube is like documentary heaven.

As for all those millennial's that go and create crap content...like Buzzfeed, Grace Helbig, Conor Franta, well they can all go and do that crap thinking it will make them money until one day, like Social Security, the money dries up and stops coming. That is a day I look forward to.

Totally off topic...but what/who is that in your avatar?
The Maggie Thatcher puppet from the old 80's-90's British satire show Spitting Image.

and my comment was directed at Dreamfinder getting really mad and telling people to leave the forum. If you are familiar with the imagineering community you would know that his previous time here is not looked on...how should I say...fondly...

Um...it's called a joke. Ever heard of one? Honestly the Imagineering forum is not meant for the flame war this thread has turned into and Wonders of Life instigated.
Ummm....I was joking about the look of the puppet...nothing more nothing less.

BTW...This thread was MOVED to Imagineering...it did NOT start out here. (I see you already knew this, so I'm questioning why you single me out)

Oh well then in that case sorry about misconstruing your comment.

Yes, I know it was moved to Imagineering, that's what I was telling Dreamfinder.

Sorry again about all the miscommunication on my part. :)

Was a bad day for me. Apologies to everyone. Again, I would have rather just deleted the thread as a whole if I had the option.

I find the main difference between myself and most on this board has nothing to with age and has more to do with the fact I am a 12 foot tall alien from the planet Gortax tasked with spearheading the invasion of this pathetic planet.

The Martians got here first. Or that's what Rod Serling always taught me....
