Trip Report A Trip of Upgrades, Pixie Dust and Unfortunate Events

Just arrived home about 24 hours ago and should be cleaning the house and finishing up laundry but wanted to share some of the magic that was our trip. As the title indicates like anything in life, this trip was filled with wonderous moments and disappointments. And Here we go....

Friday September 13th: We pulled out of the driveway right around 1pm and I was miserable. My sinuses were giving me fits and causing me the worst tooth ache I think I have ever experienced. After 4 long hours at school, all I wanted to do was sleep. And that is exactly what I did. I slept for the first 3 hours of the trip. Thankfully, my daughter was of the same opinion and she slept about the same amount of time. By the time we woke up we were starving so we stopped at our usual (McDonald's) and ate. Stretched the legs and hopped back in. We made it all the way to Valdosta, Ga that night. We probably could have made it to Orlando but my husband wanted to stop to meet up with some guys he plays Zombies with on Playstation so stopped we did. Nice hotel. I went straight to sleep. My Daughter was wide open though so it didn't last long. :)

The next morning we got back on the road and once we hit I75, we stopped. Seriously drove maybe 5 miles in an hour. We later found out that a tractor trailer had lost its entire load on the Northbound side. They had it much worse than us heading south. Not much fun though.
Finally made it to Orlando around 1pm so we went to check in to our hotel.

A really nice room with views of Downtown Disney on the 16th floor and all for under a $100. Not bad. Too bad we didn't really get to enjoy it at all.

How adorable is your little princess!! You can see the excitement in her eyes!! Sigh,.., empty parks... love, love, love!!!
I know right? She is just so in awe of them. I love that they are like these superstars to her! So much better than all the crazy, sex driven role models that are available. Give me princesses and fairytales any day! And an empty park is like an empty church. Only then can you feel what you are meant to feel. People just muddy it up.

My Mom just sent me some more pics via her PhotoPass+ so will share those now....

From our first day at Animal Kingdom, me tackling the beast that is known as Everest...

I told you the girl who sat with my Dad was a pro. Look at that smile. I don't think even if I had ridden it four or five more times I would have that kind of smile. :) Gotta love the pic though.

Next are a few of our princess with the princesses at Akershus. My Mom got a lot better shots because she was sitting next to Cadence.

She cracks me up how proud she was with Snow White. This was right after the Princess parade and she was beaming and so proud of herself. And she was not wanting to let go of Ariel. ;)

Where was I? Oh yes, our bellies were full and it was time to head on over to the bestest place ever, Magic Kingdom. Cadence was acting a little sluggish and we had made all our FP to suit her tastes as it was her birthday and her celebration. We had discussed on the way there that we thought it would be best to take the train all the way back to Fantasyland as that was where we wanted to concentrate our day. I was a little disappointed as I don't always feel like I am in MK without that beautiful walk up Main Street. We arrived just as they were finishing up the opening ceremony. Perfect timing. :)

I got these shots as we were running to catch up to my Mom. She was in full panic mode. She thought we were gonna miss our first FP, Storytime with Belle, and she knew this was the one thing we HAD to do. It was udder confusion at this point trying to figure out how to get the stroller up the platform to catch the this beauty.

I love trains. Probably because my Grandaddy use to drive them and when we went to visit them he would take us to work with him and let us "drive" the trains. They were holding it for us, but didn't seem to get that you can't move real fast with a stroller and a 5 year old who is taking in all the sights. My Mom and Dad took the stroller and we took Cadence. They got on a different area than we did so they didn't get to ride the train with her. Disappointment #1 that day. I was pretty sad because my Mom and Dad love the train and they had expressed how badly they wanted to ride it with Cadence. It was nice and I can see why people like to ride it from one end of the park to the other as a nice break. I don't think we will skip Main Street again though. Here is Carl and Cadence checking out the sights from the train.

We arrived at our destination and caught up with my Mom and Dad. Cadence climbed into the stroller and we booked it to Storytime with Belle. I caught a few shots of the new Fantasyland along the way.

And finally, we made it to this quaint, majestic little cottage. I could have looked at it for a lot longer but we had a FP to keep, it was hotter than crap outside and we were all getting a little cranky.

I was super excited about this attraction and was hoping Cadence would just love it! We had to wait a little while despite the FP, and the CM at the door was awesome. She was really friendly and we just talked and had a good time enjoying the shade. Finally it was time to enter. :)

I had to take this shot for @HouCuseChickie. Light fixtures. Even in Maurice's cottage. :)

And finally this happened...

And we had one freaked out little girl! She started screaming and crying and before I knew it she had crawled up my Dad's leg and would not let go of him. He picked her up and she grabbed a hold of his neck and she buried her head in his beard. She just kept saying "No beast, no beast. I don't want to see the beast". We calmed her down and headed inside. This nice little lady put a smile on her face.

That's my girl!!! She started getting into it, but every now and then she would hide her face thinking Beast was gonna appear at any moment. They tried to make Cadence one of the first parts, but I told the CM she wanted to be Mrs Potts. So she was awarded that lovely prize...and I was awarded the part of the wardrobe. Not because I can sing, but I was clearly the loudest. :)

We left and walked around a little more trying to decide what we should do. We had a FP for Ariel's new ride so figured we should head in that direction. But not without me stopping to take pictures along the way.

As you can see, Carl had to pick Cadence up here....she freaked out and threw a tantrum screaming that she didn't want to do it. She had rode these types of rides the last visit, so we couldn't figure out what was wrong. My Mom didn't want to make her go, but we knew she would be fine once she went on it. She cried all the way through the que and most of the ride she hid her face. She did not want to see Ursula. This from the little girl who dressed as Ursula for Halloween just 11 months before. We should have known.

I don't really remember much about this ride. Just remember being sad that Cadence wasn't enjoying herself and thinking either she was getting sick or she was playing up the Grandparents being there. I was worried the whole time.

We got off this ride and took Cadence to get something to drink. She then needed to go potty. When we were in the bathroom I asked her what was going on. She just kept saying that she wanted to go back to the hotel. Over and over. It was hotter than Hades out there and we were all miserable. But we were faced with the whole we only have so many days here and we have lots we want to get done. She had been mad that she didn't get to meet Daisy on our last trip and I knew that she could do this over in the Circus area. She agreed to this while we were in the bathroom. I talked to everybody and we headed over in that area. She freaked out again. It took some bargaining and she finally agreed.

And then we met Minnie. Loved Minnie in this outfit. She tried to steal Cadence's Mulan doll and said she loved her shoes. Cadence whispered to me when we left that we needed to go buy Minnie a Mulan doll and bring her a new pair of shoes before we go home to Alabama. :) My sweet girl and her kind heart.
