Trip Report A Trip of Upgrades, Pixie Dust and Unfortunate Events

Just arrived home about 24 hours ago and should be cleaning the house and finishing up laundry but wanted to share some of the magic that was our trip. As the title indicates like anything in life, this trip was filled with wonderous moments and disappointments. And Here we go....

Friday September 13th: We pulled out of the driveway right around 1pm and I was miserable. My sinuses were giving me fits and causing me the worst tooth ache I think I have ever experienced. After 4 long hours at school, all I wanted to do was sleep. And that is exactly what I did. I slept for the first 3 hours of the trip. Thankfully, my daughter was of the same opinion and she slept about the same amount of time. By the time we woke up we were starving so we stopped at our usual (McDonald's) and ate. Stretched the legs and hopped back in. We made it all the way to Valdosta, Ga that night. We probably could have made it to Orlando but my husband wanted to stop to meet up with some guys he plays Zombies with on Playstation so stopped we did. Nice hotel. I went straight to sleep. My Daughter was wide open though so it didn't last long. :)

The next morning we got back on the road and once we hit I75, we stopped. Seriously drove maybe 5 miles in an hour. We later found out that a tractor trailer had lost its entire load on the Northbound side. They had it much worse than us heading south. Not much fun though.
Finally made it to Orlando around 1pm so we went to check in to our hotel.

A really nice room with views of Downtown Disney on the 16th floor and all for under a $100. Not bad. Too bad we didn't really get to enjoy it at all.

Let's see, I left off at the monsoon and the cold buses. Ahhh yes, those cold seats were a welcome comfort. We arrived at Downtown Disney on a mission. To find a tinkerbell toy Cadence had seen at our hotel on the first night. Once it was found she wasn't interested in shopping anymore. So it was Grammy's turn to ride the train. That thing really whips you around.

And then it was Daddy's turn for the carousel. He was so thrilled (He hates anything that goes round and round).

She also decided to have a little Photopass photo shoot...

We hopped back on the bus to the Contemporary and cleaned up and rested for a little while. Went over to the main building to grab a bite to eat at the QS food location. Carl and I were not really hungry and Cadence was starting to fade a little so we didn't eat a full meal. She has a chocolate chip muffin and I ate this thing of beauty...

Red Velvet Cake is my all time fave. I was a little leery of a cupcake, because to me cupcakes are a little dry. Can I just tell you this was a little piece of heaven? The cake was super moist and rich. The icing was like the whipped icing you get at Publix, only somehow better, and not overly sweet. And directly in the middle was cream cheese. Decadent, smooth and just the right amount of sweet. Heaven on earth I tell ya. I shared a little with whoever wanted to try it, but ate most of it myself.

It was now time to head to the 2nd floor ballroom of the Contemporary for our very first experience with some very silly Pirates. Cadence was super excited for the Pirates and Pals Fireworks cruise and despite all of us adults being really tired, we were too. As a family, we tend to arrive early for EVERYTHING. Here are a few pics of us waiting for the party to start.

Seemed like forever before they started but I am sure it was on time. We were just so anxious and trying to stay awake. Eventually went inside and there was a nice spread of chocolate gold coins, cake, cookies, ice cream, pretzels, popcorn, etc. Not too long after we went inside Captain Hook and Smee came in and we all got in line to have our chance to meet them. Cadence was pretty scared, but I wouldn't let her chicken out. In line, we met a really nice couple from Pennsylvania who were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. Chatted with themquite a bit and then it was our turn!

From here we met our captain Patch and they performed quite a show before leading us down the escalator and out to the boat doc. We all loaded our boat and got comfy. Excited for both our first viewing of the electrical water parade and Wishes from out on the bay!

So all in all it was quite a magical first day. By the time we made it back to our room and got Cadence a bath and hit the bed it was well past midnight. We had to be up early to head over to Akershus for our princess's birthday breakfast. Whew. It was gonna be a long day.

Okay, so I anaylzed this Jessica (I am very bored today :) )

He/She has man hands, and chest hair, but a baby face.

My problem is that a gender is necessary to determine if I should/should not continue being attracted to him/her. Thus, I am going with male, with a feminine smile.

Work was boring today, what can I say!
That made me laugh out loud! HEHEHEHE. We thought we saw while we were there. But who knows! Go with male. :)

Back at it this afternoon. Good day for waking up only after 2 hours of sleep thanks to the invasion of the most aggressive house ants I have ever seen and nightmares of people killing me and my family. Dinner in the crockpot and finally done unloading groceries so gonna relax and do a little remembering.

Day 3....A very happy birthday...at first.

After only about 5 hours of sleep, we were all up and ready for a very royal breakfast. We were all super excited to try Akershus, as none of us had ever been before. We arrived at Epcot (early of course). :) Cadence was dressed as her favorite princess, Mulan. We were really hoping that she would get to meet Mulan at the breakfast. We were all antsy and ready for them to open up. Surprising how few people made the early breakfast reservation this day.

I had a blast taking pictures of the park with no one inside of it. I promise, if you love Epcot the early reservation is purely worth it to see this beautiful park with absolutely no one in it.
