Trip Report A Trip of Upgrades, Pixie Dust and Unfortunate Events

Just arrived home about 24 hours ago and should be cleaning the house and finishing up laundry but wanted to share some of the magic that was our trip. As the title indicates like anything in life, this trip was filled with wonderous moments and disappointments. And Here we go....

Friday September 13th: We pulled out of the driveway right around 1pm and I was miserable. My sinuses were giving me fits and causing me the worst tooth ache I think I have ever experienced. After 4 long hours at school, all I wanted to do was sleep. And that is exactly what I did. I slept for the first 3 hours of the trip. Thankfully, my daughter was of the same opinion and she slept about the same amount of time. By the time we woke up we were starving so we stopped at our usual (McDonald's) and ate. Stretched the legs and hopped back in. We made it all the way to Valdosta, Ga that night. We probably could have made it to Orlando but my husband wanted to stop to meet up with some guys he plays Zombies with on Playstation so stopped we did. Nice hotel. I went straight to sleep. My Daughter was wide open though so it didn't last long. :)

The next morning we got back on the road and once we hit I75, we stopped. Seriously drove maybe 5 miles in an hour. We later found out that a tractor trailer had lost its entire load on the Northbound side. They had it much worse than us heading south. Not much fun though.
Finally made it to Orlando around 1pm so we went to check in to our hotel.

A really nice room with views of Downtown Disney on the 16th floor and all for under a $100. Not bad. Too bad we didn't really get to enjoy it at all.

We arrived at our destination and our sassy girl from the south had not arrived yet. I did some shopping at the Christmas Shoppe and got a beautiful ornament to remember Cadence's Fifth Birthday trip to WDW. Then we sat and waited for a little while and I took a few photos and we chatted with another nice family. Then it was time for a little foodie talk with our fave Southern Belle.

They had quite the conversation about gumbo and cheesecake and pizza. She was probably one of the sweetest of the Princesses we met this trip.

We drove to HS and got on the tram to take us to the entrance. Man we had forgotten how long and annoying this can be when you are used to monorails and buses. Didn't help that Cadence almost fell asleep on the way over. She was not in a good mood and the heat was getting almost unbearable.

She was a little happier once we met Sofia. We decided to do the Disney jr Live show. We had not done this her first trip and we thought the air conditioning might do her some good.

It was a success! We had to find food and finally wound up eating at the ABCCommissary. Wasn't too impressed. She was fading fast and just wanted to go home. She didn't realize we didn't have any time left and home really meant HOME not the hotel. :( we spent the last of our snack credits on whatever we could find and left. Hoping next trip we get to enjoy HS. I missed it this trip.

So that was our trip. Full of magic and fun. Hate that my baby got sick. We won't be going this year so my next TR will be a ways away. Will have to read everyone else's to keep me going. Hoping we can show Cadence the magic that is WDW at Christmas. Prayers and pixie dust we can make it happen!
LOVE IT!!! Honestly, Cadence is always smiling! Bless her heart. Being sick at Disney is awful! I am so sorry Cadence got sick :( We can't stand the heat either, which is why we love end of October-November. Sending you mounds of pixie dust for a Christmas trip!!! xoxo

Sorry that she was feeling so yucky on the last day, but she certainly was a trooper. Still kind of freaks me out a bit to read the last day since I can't help but think about everything that happened that day and that we were supposed to try and meet up. Oh well, it is what it is. Great TR!!!!!!! Hopefully you guys will get to go back soon :) Think about it this way, if you have a longer planning period, you may be able to rent points for DVC and get deluxe for closer to the price of mod.

I couldn't help but think of that too. Hate that we didn't get to meet up but just thankful you guys were okayand still made the best of your trip.

I am seriously hoping for renting DVC points and keeping my fingers crossed for upgrading to the deluxe dining plan. Just too many restaurants to try and don't want to be hindered. ;)

Such an awesome trip report! I felt just like Cadence at Akershus! I could barely eat because of the princesses! She is too cute!! :) Loved your upgraded room, isn't it amazing how a little bit of pixie dust makes everything better!

Loved yours too! When are you headed back? Pixie dust is awesome.. Wish their were more of it outside the bubble.

I wish there was more of it outside the bubble as well! People would think I'm straight from the looney bin if I wore my crowns and ears around like I want too! My next trip is in June.. I hope you get back for the holidays! I would love to do Halloween or Christmas at Disney.. maybe one day! I wanna stay in the Contemporary one day as well, a monorail resort just seems so awesome!! And your room was beautiful!

We totally lucked out and now I am contemplating deluxe food or hotel. Doubt we can afford both. So is the down time at the hotel important or is the dining more important to us. I won't be getting to be in the bubble until 2015 Christmas so enjoy your trip in June. With follow along again if you decide to do another TR. :)

Ahh I'd love deluxe food. Food is part of the disney experience in my opinion! I need to take a break between trips so I can save for something meaningful! :)

Food is a huge part of the experience for me. My hubby and I just talked about it and he isn't sold on it because he likes to eat a LOT and always winds up miserable. So we will debate whether we want to spend the money on a deluxe or a villa or just go to Pop Century and enjoy the heck out of a really long stay. :)
