A Terror-rific Spirited 13th (ToT fans have lots to fear)...

I think my problem with it is that I had rode Indy first, so when I finally rode Dinosaur I guess my expectations were too high. Instead of an exciting ride, I found myself feeling like I was part of a sixth grade science experiment. It's like a slow tour of a prehistoric forest, identifying plant genus whIle trying to avoid getting chased by a dinosaur who sorta shows up. Shoehorning the meteor thing to try and create a sense of urgency feels lazy, and is badly executed. It's a dumb ride.

But hey, different strokes for different folks. ..

It's funny. I rode them in reverse order, and I found Indy to be dry. Probably because I was used to terrifyingly fast and huge animatronics. The boulder was cool, but I just don't find the scenes in Indy to be all that interesting. Screen Beatles fog rats, just not that great. However Dino is probably my favorite ride at WDW. Such a cool idea, fast paced, and even though it's been toned down A LOT, still a lot of fun.

Pirates 5 Superbowl trailer. Now this is the Pirates of the Caribbean I remember.

I got zero excitement from this trailer...and I love these movies. Although I do think it went over better with most other people than it did with me.

But if I were Disney I would be worried about this one. It is expensive and it appears it was filmed during the insanity of Depp's relationship with Amber Heard. The best hope this movie has is to be reserved in its usage of Jack Sparrow and lean on the rest of the excellent cast.

Captain Jack Sparrow was barely in this trailer, and he didn't feature in the first at all. I have to believe that's to combat any ill will towards Johnny, especially after Alice 2 flopped.

Yeah, considering this film was completed around a year and a half ago, you can definitely point the finger at trying let the Depp drama dissipate from the public eye before releasing it.

Mhmm. Add Johnny's money problems to the mix, and it hasn't been a great start to 2017 for him. I'm hoping that Pirates 5 is better than 3 and 4, but I have to approach this one cautiously.

Yeah, 3 started off sorta strong, then deteriorated into a discombobulated mess. 4, don't even know where to start. Boring, weak story, bad acting (Penelope Cruz can't act her way out of a paper sack), throwaway characters... list goes on and on. Looks like we'll see some big death scenes to include Barbosa (the real star of this series that's held it together) in this one though.

I barely recognized Barbossa, tbh. It took me 12 hours to be able to confirm that it was him in the trailer.
We got our obligatory glance of Orlando Bloom. Too bad Keira isn't coming back for this one. She was one of the redeeming features of 3, IMO.

Yeah, Knightley brings some stuff to the table, but her motivational speech has been so played out in movies since Braveheart, that everytime I hear one I start to roll my eyes.

Besides, she's busy churning butter on her abandoned island. lol. She'll be in the post credits scene with her getting a quickie marriage to Jack and then cut to a future scene with her son carrying around his shrunken head.

For some reason I thought I heard she was coming back for this one at least as a cameo, but possibly something more. But that could be old news, since as was mentioned, this movie has been in post-production for a really long time.

For POTC to be a continuing franchise, they have to evolve it beyond finding silly things for Sparrow to do.

I would be pleasantly surprised if Elizabeth Swann/Turner just showed up halfway through the movie. Like, no appearances in trailers or the interview circuit from Kiera. She just shows up halfway through the movie and kicks butt.

You remember it with Johnny Cash? Must be a different Pirates than I remember...
I think there was a 2 Johnny Cash limit to the Super Bowl last night. They used his 'Ragged Old Flag' before the game and 'Ain't No Grave' in this trailer. The Logan trailer had previously used 'Hurt' but switched to Amazing Grace for some reason.

I too rode Indy first and I remember it to being better than Dino, but I still llke Dino also. Remember that we are talking about individual preferences. My kids did not like Dino due to the darkness, quick motion and being very loud to them. I think what I prefer about Indy ride is the basis around the Indy movies (which I liked better than Dinosaur)

So, is this reliable from Mr. Niles?
Can't speak for Steve, but everything I've heard from Universal sources tells me that the company sees this as the next Potter - not just a platform for a single land, but for a series of attractions and lands as the years progress. Potter started with Hogsmeade then progressed to Diagon Alley. Nintendo will start with Mario, and I guess we'll see where it goes from there.
It's a comment he left in this article.

I sure hope so. It's what I've been expecting, at least in Orlando. It'll still be different from Potter since each land could be a different franchise.

Ooh boy I can't wait!!! :D

Well, Mario and Donkey Kong.

Niles drives me crazy. Of course they view it like Potter - they can't fit all the worthy Nintendo IP into Kid Zone at USF. That's about the safest "insider" prediction I've heard in awhile.

Mario, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi are a bit of an exception since it's well established that they all exist in the same main universe instead of just being connected through spin-offs like Smash Bros. so saying it's based on "Mario" isn't really wrong.

Yeah. Even I expected this.

I will admit I love the queue for Indy and the finale much better. But you really can't beat giant animatronics. It amazes me to think they've been there for so long.
