Personally, I'll take "safe for today" over "no comment." Yeah, they could change their mind, and I suppose they could be outright lying. But at least as of this morning there's real reason to hope that the best-themed attraction in the Studios, and quite possibly the entire resort, is safe from a nonsensical GOTG overlay.

Been gone for a while, I finally caught up after reading and skimming through thirty pages.

I'm back from my vacation and while this isn't the right place for me to sound off about it I do want to mention some things. Pardon the many quotes, I had a lot to catch up on :)

What else? Oh yes, we have IAAPA in O-Town this week. That's when every lifestylerwhore, every blogger, every podcaster pretends they are in the themed entertainment business along with O-Town fanbois with too much time and money etc.

Not coincidentally, D23 has its fall event at WDW next weekend where you'll likely finally hear some facts about Pandora (the project that is over five years old and counting). No, won't be there. So, no autograph/kissing booth, sorry.

They can promise the sun and the moon but I don't believe a thing they say until I see it with my own eyes.

That makes you a smart Spirit. Or one of my Evil Fanboi Minions of Disney Destruction. Whatever you like better.

I have been much more interested in the direction of our country, than of WDW or Disney as a whole. Who said years ago that you couldn't Walmart WDW if you didn't Walmart the USA first? President Elect Donald J. Trump. Just let that soak in and wash over you. I complain about people with no theme park experience whatsoever running Disney's P&R division and we just elected a man with no experience in government, world affairs or politics whatsoever to the highest office in the land. ... I think that is like not trusting doctors, so you pick an outsider ... your postman to do your open heart surgery. Really doesn't make any sense, but anger and hatred often don't.

Anyway, the rumor mill has been slow of late. We all sort of know about what is coming soon from both Disney and UNI. There aren't any big surprises that I can see. Smaller scale things like the new holiday projection show at The Bob Iger MAGICal IP Theme Park can slip by ... but nothing of real significance. Like I said, I expect some Pandora details this weekend at the D23 event at WDW. But no new attraction stuff.

Coming back from a ten day Orlando trip (6 WDW/4 UNIVERSAL) and the only thing I'm excited about is Bolcano Bay. Checked in on a Friday afternoon, and be check out Tuesday afternoon bisible progress was made on the volcano- my room at Cabana Bay overlooked it (it was awesome)

I will no longer stay on Disney property after experiencing Universal's.

By the time Pandora is ready Uni will have an entire new park open.

As for the politics, the country has be scared for the future and I'd love to hear your thoughts, a PM is about due!

Few care because Universal is investing heavily into their parks and opening new attractions every year. One day, before we're all dead, we might be lucky enough to see Rivers of Light, or visit Pandora or Star Wars Land at WDW, but their lack of drive to complete projects in any meaningful timeframe contradicts their willingness to jack up prices like clockwork.

UOR is working hard to win my dollar, WDW is not. So that's why UOR price increases are usually met with a shrug, at least from my corner.

This. Universal worked hard for the money I worked hard to earn and they in turn deserve it. The quality of the parks is amazing- from a newbie point of view I was very impressed with the parks but overly thrilled with how they were developed and CityWalk built so you have to go through there first (genius marketing strategy that works very well and was thoroughly enjoyable)

The quality of food and the reasonable-er prices than the competition down the street will have me coming back.

Disney has absolutely lost me as a customer. My next Orlando stay will be solely at a Universal resort with minimal time at Disney.

Indeed opinions differ.

We rode Kong twice during a recent trip. Can't wait to ride twice again.

We rode Frozenstrom. That was enough for ever. We didn't ride Mine Train last year at all.

Epcot is a travesty. Without even comparing EPCOT Center. It needs everything proposed with nothing cut. As a good start. DHS is an embarrassing mish mash. It will still need more. DAK is and still will be lacking as a theme park. MK hits the highs then crashes to the lows.

For the record we must do CoP, Tiki, CBJ and SSE multiple times each trip. And BTM. And Tower. And Kilimanjaro. And I think Comcast using synergy in Fallon is a disaster.

Fallon ride feels forced.

I agree with you on Kong- I had to ride it twice in a row ( get there early in the morning before the lines form) because I was so blown away the first time. Loved it! Just the right amount of screen and action and effects. Our truck both times did not go outside, it was only the indoor portion of the ride.

I am positive the majority o the folks here would rate the Tangled Toilets higher than Kong.

You know, "SCREENZ!!!! OMG! MY EYES!!!!!!!!" (vomiting)

Yep screens everywhere but at least it's a continuation of storyline and the screens don't end abruptly like on the stupid Frozen ride. Rode once, don't feel the need to ever ride again.

In response to the quote: “more Disney, timeless, relevant, family-friendly”

Epcot was already "Disney" and "family-friendly". How do they plan to make it more so? More characters? More stroller parking? And how are they going to balace that with an increase in the number of food & wine events?

WDI has been given a square peg, and Epcot is the round hole.

That's movie supremacy for you. Original content in the parks doesn't count as Disney, so it must be eliminated or have IP shoehorned in.
In this environment, the only way the original park attractions can survive is if they get movie/TV adaptations or extensions of them.

In Epcot's case, make an animated Figment movie and also use the Epcot brand for science programs/documentaries.

Somebody at Disney has got to make a Figment movie became a reality someday.

They should just use the comic as the basis for the story. It was pretty good!
That reminds me I'm planning on getting the second graphic of Figment this Christmas.

Anyway, they should use some ideas based on the Figment comics and bring in some new likeable characters such as the introduction of Spark in Figment 2 and more exploration of the places Figment and Dreamfinder visited from the comics.

Sorry to hear you never got the outside portion of Kong. Maybe next time. Glad you enjoyed yourself :)
I think that would be a good project for Brad Bird with creative input from Tony Baxter of course
Dream come true.

If he said that GotG isn't coming to the Tower, doesn't that technically leave room for the possibility that the theme might still change...?
Once we saw the enthusiastic way guests were reacting to Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure® park we knew we had to share this exciting new experience with guests at Walt Disney World® Resort.
It would just have to spun as a change due to guest demand.
