I thought the same thing after my first viewing of NuSoarin, but it has grown on me. Everything but the Taj Mahal works for me, now.
And the best Eiffel tower!

That space could've been used for a land that wasn't attached to a single intellectual property.
If SeaWorld wasn't so crappy compared to the other two I might actually want to go. As it is now I see SeaWorld as a guy walking down a seedy back alley and is then all of a sudden jumped by two thugs (Disney and Universal) who proceed to beat him to his last breath. That's really how I see it with all the trouble they're in.
Yes. We should ask Baxter if Pop Culture Droidland is superior to and deserving of the plot over Discoveryland. It certainly could have, but over the last 62 years, the park did nothing with it, so the chances of anything else going there were pretty slim. If Tony Baxter has gotten over the fact that Discovery Bay from 1978 wasn't going to cut it, the fan community probably should too.
I think you have that backwards. It makes sense that people who complain about current Epcot would buy the retro merchandise since it, ya know, references old Epcot, and not current Epcot...It's interesting that the same people who are complaining about current Epcot are the same ones pulling out their wallets for the same exact "retro" merchandise Disney has been peddling since 2005.
But wouldn't people who love classic EPCOT Center not want to support the removal of the attractions by giving Disney their money, which is exactly what Disney wants them to do by releasing these things? It's a pure nostalgia cash-grab.I think you have that backwards. That's not how it works. Horizons is closed. If Disney releases a Horizons retro tee, and I buy it, what are they going to do, close it again? If anything, it should show there is still interest in these types of attractions. But wouldn't people who love classic EPCOT Center not want to support the removal of the attractions by giving Disney their money, which is exactly what Disney wants them to do by releasing these things? Discovery Bay and Land of Legends are much stronger thematic fits for Disneyland than Star Wars will ever be. For one, they wouldn't have had to hide themselves from the Rivers of America. It certainly could have, but over the last 62 years, the park did nothing with it, so the chances of anything else going there were pretty slim. The ultimate test for me:Discovery Bay and Land of Legends are much stronger thematic fits for Disneyland than Star Wars ever will be. For one, they wouldn't have had to hide themselves from the Rivers of America.
The merch isn't even that great. It's got more of a 70s vibe to me than 80sIt's interesting that the same people who are complaining about current Epcot are the same ones pulling out their wallets for the same exact "retro" merchandise Disney has been peddling since 2005.

That only happens when you're sitting toward the sides though. So it looks fine to the people sitting in the middle.
The ultimate test for me:
Is a land compatible with the railroad?
Every DL land can blend in the railroad. Some are a perfect fit: MS, NOS, FrL. Some complement beautifully: CC, FaL, TT. And even the TL on the move loves a steamtrain to its assortment of racecars, former skyway and peoplemovers, submarines, monorail.
But in no way, shape or form can the railroad be a part of Star Wars: Megabucks on Edge. It has to be completely hidden. Which shows the land can not be an integrated part of the park.
They are in financial trouble are they not?Ouch lol
I totally disagree with this. SeaWorld Orlando has done a nice job and has decent theming, for what it is. Have you been there? Looked at pictures? It's really not that bad. Doesn't do a lot for me but ... ouch lol

Do you think SeaWorld is under pressure to close because of all the animal advocacy groups & such? Or does the general population going to Orlando not really care?Sort of but they're not preparing to shutter their doors. But that has nothing to do with how you described the park. It's not falling down, it's not dirty or like some back alley with shady characters milling about LOL. It's not some run down Six Flags. They've done some updating to some things, have some nice coasters. They've consistently added things over the years. Their new nighttime stuff is fairly solid.
It's honestly a solid and nicely themed park.

I haven't been to SeaWorld since 2013 (San Diego) and honestly I don't think I'd go back after watching documentaries, seeing posts about the treatment of animals, etc.
