I was waiting for Ford to jump on the SW opening and he sure did, right on cue. Can't wait for him to be proven wrong. Everything we're told about when something is open has opened. ROL delay the exception. We have timeframes for most of what was announced at D23. Can we stop with the BS here
But then what we would do!?

One of my favorite bits of "theming" (sorry not sure what other word to use to describe it) is the path of brown in Liberty Square and pointing out to others what it's supposed to represent.
Now, cheap brown prefab pavement:

Then. Actual stones, authenticity, remarkable sophistication:

I won't go into the silly randomness of a Christmas store nor the slightly Toontown colour scheme nor the replacement of theme-appropriate entertainment by toons and acquired ip. ;)

I once heard the explanation that the stones serve the exact opposite of the current sewer explanation. They were the raised stone road, slightly elevated over the muddy edges of the road one wished to avoid in colonial times for the same reasons one wishes to avoid the brown parts now.

You mean how FLE expansion opened what 6-7 months late supposed to be May ended up December, And Pandora 2 years late and hundreds of millions over budget, Yeah I guess that qualifies for on-time in the pixie duster's universe. Not to mention the Gazebo which took almost 2 years to complete...

LOL. Ok.

I'm not a pixie duster either. How was Pandora 2 years late? FLE expansion opened in phases. Mine Train started construction after everything else did. The Gazebo didn't have an opening date so how was that late?

Oh wow! Never knew the brown was pavers/stones. Awesome. Sucks they made the change.

Because when it was announced it was supposed to open in 2015... And it's 2017 now

And in other Disney News

ESPN's Crown Jewel SportsCenter trounced in ratings by the Teletubbies, Yes you read that one correctly Sports Center is behind the TELETUBBIES in the ratings game. Someone please explain why ESPN is SO VALUABLE these days again...

https://www.outkickthecoverage.com/teletubbies-dominating-espn-programming-summer/
They're comparing a 7pm showing of SportsCenter (which if I'm not mistaken is a repeat of the 6 pm showing) against a 2 pm showing of Teletubbies.

That's not exactly apples to apples.

I almost wasn't with you until your last few sentences. Having pavers mark the gross path wouldn't make much sense.

Almost 18 months to reskin two tents and retheme a meet n greet and one of the MKs most profitable gift shops...

Eh...that's misdirection of the point.

"Taking a long time" and "delayed" are two different things.

EDIT: Not that either should be acceptable.
The point is the drag these things on too long. Tram tour closed when, 2015? When did they break ground on SWL? Given the infrastructure work at DL, WDW should be open first not trailing behind. Whether spirit is right about 18 months or not it's still way behind. And shouldn't the Star Wars hotel be going up right now to capitalize on the hype?
