You haven't driven by Volcano Bay yet, have you?

I have no doubt that volcano bay will be awesome, likely the new bar when it comes to water parks, but I still don't see it adding days to visits. I could actually see it cannibalizing some folks second day at UNI as they try to fit both parks in one day, then VB the next.

Anecdotally I've met so many people that won't step foot in a water park for various reasons from "it's gross" to "I don't do slides." But plenty of people still go to theme parks without ever stepping foot on a coaster.

Maybe VB's themeing will be the difference, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Interesting to read about the inhouse politics at Universal Creative.

I love Universal but I've started looking at their projects more critically with the Fast and Furious announcement which just seemed off, with seemingly better options to persue like Potter phase 3, Avengers, J-Park expansion, Fantastic Beasts. Added with Hulk and Kong (haven't ridden either yet) getting underwhelming responses (I touted Kong as a potential best ride ever) and things don't look so rosey. I will still go on Hulk & Kong with an open mind though, and hope for the best.

Volcano Bay is confusing me somewhat it is getting great hype, and I'm sure I'll enjoy the place...but I think they've oversold it unless there's some as of yet unannounced impressive details. It just seems like a modern water park...whicj isn't a bad thing just not when things have been overpromised.

And several years later, she becomes Miss Moneypenny (did she just disappear after she turned into a giant? Turn in to mist? Get impaled like Ursula? I seriously cannot remember)

Major kudos to both Zoe Saldana and Naomie Harris to having some of the best careers to come out of the Pirates cast.
She's (spoiler alert) Calypso, sea goddess. She basically turns into a giant, dissipates into a bunch of crabs then brings the maelstrom that the "final battle" is held in.

Sorry, Sprit, really can't help myself when it comes to talking Pirates... :hilarious:

Fast and Furious was a fast tracked knee jerk reaction to the response that it got in Hollywood (16% jump in attendance). No one in the "theme park community" (Disney fans or Uni fans) thinks it's a good idea. And yet, like the movie series, it will probably be very popular, much to our chagrin.

Volcano Bay will be a must do for most families that are staying on property.

@WDW1974 I'm assuming at this point you've seen the new transportation speculation from the "DHS Permit" thread. Have you heard anything? I can't imagine such a huge infrastructure improvement would get this far without one of our insiders hearing something....

>>> This is what happens when you are struggling. You keep raising prices and nickel and diming existing Guests, while adding discounts left and right. Although these are fair price points. $49 is what you are getting in an All Star room. $145 is actually a bargain for DAK Lodge, but only by $50-120.

Looks like Easter season is not looking so good down in the swamps as these would be the last times I'd expect discounts like these to be in effect. So they need CM's to fluff the occupancy numbers

Please not another Avatar debate.

It's a mediocre movie at best that most of the public no longer cares about but somehow Disney has made a land that looks great and I'm excited for ... let's leave it at that.

Spirit, if you would continue please ...

I'm trying. It just gets tough. Despite what some say about my huge ... ... my huge ... ego, I'd rather see nine pages of substance instead of 20 of yet another discussion that has been had many times and can be again JUST PLEASE NOT HERE! Or else I'm going to join my hillbilly pal and just drop away ... or maybe Derek Burgan will hire me as an Outlet Store blogging intern (that has gotta look damn fine on a CV!)

I am glad to hear the optimism on Pandora. I am equally hopeful that DPL buyout will result in the infusion of new capital there. Per hong Kong, how can they not get size envy with that behemoth(ugly?) castle nearby.

Size (as I tell my fanboi minions) isn't everything. I will wait until I see it in person (because some friends say that pics don't do it justice), but SDL's castle still looks ugly and boxy and a mix of all sorts of clashing style elements.

HKDL's is as perfect as the original that it copied. And it fits so well with the mountains. Now, they are going to take a Main Street and Castle that were copied from Anaheim's scale and add ... I don't even know what to call it ... adornments? To make the structure larger. I need to see if they are renaming it as well because that ugly thing sure doesn't look like anything from Sleeping Beauty.

While I agree, I'm glad to see them being pretty aggressive with expanding the park both attraction and physical space wise. Still, at least it wasn't the overbuilt behemoth disaster that DL Paris was at opening.

Going to assume this has been discussed, but Euro Disney as a resort was, indeed, seriously overbuilt. But DLP was not. It was damn near perfect from the start.
