A true winner. Love throwing out the race car... er.. I mean sexual harassment card when things don't go their way.

The sad thing is if she goes and complains to GR.. she'll be comp'd something.

I can only imagine how her parents treat other people.

I bet her mother is a 'I wanna speak to a manager' kind of woman who makes a scene everywhere she goes, and the girl has just learned from example that people should be treated like that if you don't get your way.

I know she's not typical, but this sort of thing is becoming more common as people pay four star prices then find that for all that money spent they only get two star quality, then take it out on the only aspect of the experience that is still four star, the CMs.

Funny reminds me of when I use to work for mcdonalds as my first job. One night had a lady come in the lobby and claim the people taking her order were rude and unprofessional. Ok that happens so the floor manager at the time talks to the customer and she starts telling in the lobby. Saying the girl needs to be fired and she was so rude and so the girl walks to the front. The lady takes her cup and throws it over the counter at the girl. She then claims she wants her entire order remade and that she wants her money back. We asked for her receipt and she claimed she never got one. She wanted like five large meals! We checked the computers for receipt history and she only bought a sweet tea. Right before we closed she came back. I was the only one in drive thru at that point so I was being as polite as possible. I handed her some ketchup packets and one fell and hit the ground. She demanded I apologize and when I didn't she started yelling again. She wanted the manager but I just closed the window and locked it. Thankfully she was to dumb to call the hotline and report me!

The face at the end cracked me up.

The girl in this video is nothing. My friends and I were in the line at Guest Services in the MK on Sunday night because we wanted to give a CM a glowing review for some outstanding service she had displayed, and there was a woman speaking to one of the representatives (I think it was actually a manager, because he didn't have a plaid vest on like the rest of them). This woman was basically berating him for the entire time we were waiting there (at least 10-15 minutes). She was borderline hysterical.

He was handling it like a pro, and literally everyone in line was trying to hear what she was saying. What we could hear sounded like she was upset that someone got wet on Splash Mountain. She asked if there were any signs saying you could get wet, and he said "numerous." And then someone in line said "Lady, it's not called 'Dry Mountain.'" :hilarious: It was golden. Everyone in line congratulated him on keeping his cool after she left. He simply smiled a huge grin and went, "And who can I help next?"

I almost wish I got into the psychology field b/c I find it interesting what makes a human become irrational when a situation does not fit their liking...what flips the switch in the brain that makes them become so nuts that it blocks rational thinking at a freaking theme park.

Capital investment takes time and patience. It takes effort.

It's a lot easier to buy back stock. Just write a check. :D

Or raise prices. :greedy:

Or cut quality. :banghead:

These are quick-and-dirty ways of improving company/stock performance. They are signs of lazy executives who are managing by Excel spreadsheet.

Instead, get out of the office, stop the endless array of meetings & presentations, and get into the theme parks in order to figure out what's happening. Then come up with creative solutions to improve business and drive revenue growth by providing customers with value. Figure out ways to create new goods and services that customers want to buy. :)

Create new experiences that drive sustainable growth, not big price increases that cause customers to buy less.

Stop going for the quick fix. Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty. :)

Wise words.

Reminds me of the stories about Uncle Walt, and how he would stress to his team to actually GO to Disneyland and see what the people liked or needed first hand.
He did it himself often, and expected his company employees to do so as well to gain a better understanding of what the publics real reactions were.

One such time he was telling his design staff over at WED to *get down there, have lunch with the Guests...for Gods sake do not eat on the (studio) lot!*
He really stressed the importance of observing what the ACTUAL Guest Experience was like...from the Guests perspective.
Wait in queues with them. Dine with them. Ride with them. Observe their behavior and expressions.

Can you imagine someone like Mr. Iger, or his immediate underlings at Disney, doing that ......today?

I blame her parents. Children are becoming too entitled and selfish...if something doesn't go their way it's always someone else's fault.

So maybe you just see the next hibachi show? Or is that going to ruin your day? You could always be sitting at home instead of at Disney World. Which one would you prefer?

Another shining example of the self-centered millennial generation. You see, they've been told by their helicopter parents how special they are since they were born. They always get a medal for participation. Nothing is ever their fault. Fail at something? Not your fault. Not make the team? Not your fault. Get an F on a paper because you spent almost zero time researching and writing it? Not your fault.

My sister runs a college book store and she says that the kids rarely come in to buy their books any longer. It's the parents that come in and buy them because their precious ray of sunshine lacks any self-dependence skills. I don't know about you but my Mom drove me to college three hours away, gave me a hug goodbye, and I was on my own.

Young people like this (and their terrible parents) are one of the reasons I left the teaching profession. I got tired of parents marching in to my room and complaining because little Johnny made an F on his test. Even though Johnny never paid attention in class and never did his homework (and was often a discipline problem) it was MY fault that he failed. It always took every ounce of self control not to tell these awful parents what I really thought.

Side note but I think if Tony Baxter were to be in the same room and even made eye contact, I'd lose it, let alone actually talking to him. Thinking of it, I'm fangrrling, there's a million questions and with my luck they'd all come out at once.

"Mr. Baxter!!! How splash can what and rainythey humid spinny gurgling who wad mountain avenue?"

Just out of curiosity.....

What would your top two questions be ?

Funny that you mention teaching - that was my first reaction when I watched that. I'm a retired teacher married to a retired teacher and I had my fill of encounters just like that from students and parents who didn't appreciate me holding them to a higher standard than what they felt was acceptable. I generally won, but more importantly, my students won.

I was the same way. I was tough and I too held them to a high standard. I modeled my teaching style after a math teacher I had in high school. She was tough as nails and everybody hated her. But I learned more from her than any teacher I ever had. To this day she still remembers me.

The funny thing is I still bump into old students and it's always the same..."Mr. Todd you were tough but I know now why you were like that. You didn't let me goof off and expected me to try my best."

I still get e-mails from some of my former students, especially the ones I was strictest with. I had them in middle school, and they always thank me for preparing them for high school.

Nah, people like that are like that under all circumstances. If it were free they would demand money back or just complain because it is part of their makeup. Must be a sad way to be.

Some people will do anything to get something free. I once had a lady call me a racist. Why. Because a gave her a Canadian dime in her change. I don't envy people who work those type of jobs. You get paid crap and have to deal with a lot of stupid people.

I once watched a co-worker be yelled at and called racist because he happily obliged a stupid request.

Plus, almost exactly half of my posts were pre-like. Then I take an 18 month hiatus and its like a "whole new world" on the blue boards (thank god that was still the default background). My first like was a pity one. Something like, "6,000 posts and no likes, you poor, poor man." Like you though, I rarely look at the stats unless someone is quoted and the reply is, "So, your first post on this site is claiming that Horizons is coming back. What a crock . You should be shot. @all the insiders - is this true?"

Horizons is coming back?

If I weren't crying already, I sure would be after reading that.
