I finally saw inside the Wonders of Life pavilion, which was nice even if it is slowly decaying and falling apart. What I am less keen on is the fact that Epcot had turned into the de facto events park. By this I don't mean the Flower and Garden festival (which was fantastic), but the Summit Varsity Dance, Cheerleading and Rowdy Girls event crammed into World Showcase (a part of WDW this demographic ordinarily wouldn't go near). Because as we all know, a bit of unused space between UK and Canada is the perfect place for an unbelievably large tent staffed by non-Disney Cast Members, and it fits in with the theme because... Actually who cares how it fits in with the theme, it's bringing thousands of people to WDW. And of course, let's select the most adult and serene park to host a frivolous event that absolutely nobody who isn't involved in the event cares about.

The fact that didn't stop me from spending 3 (partial) days in Epcot (without even doing many attractions) is testament to its quality... Or perhaps just the low standards the other parks are aiming for, with that abomination of a hub expansion in MK and the abomination of a stage in place of the BAH in DHS (those who praised the hat removal must be eating their words).

Got a full on Tokyo trip coming up in a few weeks, and having seen the general state of WDW it's just as well that WDW came first. I don't think I'll be going back to O-Town for a fair while; it's hard to justify when Tokyo, HK and LA are equally direct flights from where I live. It's also made me appreciate how good I have it in Paris a lot more, especially WDS which as things stand give DHS a serious run for its money (at least it doesn't have outdated maps and has a reasonable attraction count).
