I haven't been to Universal but my sister was there for the first time yesterday and she was RAVING about it. Do they have similar problems (long lines/high prices).

Just wondering why WDW has not solved that issue? Is it because attendance and revenues are up? Eventually people won't return of they feel the WDW experience is cheapened and chipped away little by little as prices continue to rise.

Lines are more about 'when' you are there.. they don't have the 'no offseason' situation WDW has now, and their 'fastpass' like system is actually more 'front of the line' in that there is no return time requirement. So lines can be an issue, but not as consistently as at WDW.

Prices, they are expensive and you don't have the same 'things get cheap after 5 days' model like you have at WDW. But hotels, and in mixed cases, food, are more reasonably priced for what you get vs WDW.

Because it's easier to look at the chart that says 'we are doing everything right!!!' - Rev and attendance up..

to resume, they're doing the ultimate animated version in live action?
because that is the cartoon network version so far. (Ps, I also love the young Nova, both cartoon and comics)

I don't know, but I'm guessing it will be more like the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon than the Ultimate one. I don't think, for example, that they'd have Spidey involved with SHIELD or working with other superheroes.

That said, regarding Star Wars, I despise the prequels, but my kiddo doesn't.

That's important to factor in. I look at Jar Jar as terrible writing, but she sees him as a fun character. I didn't quite understand her standpoint until I caught up on Clone Wars (which she watched as a kid, I didn't until I did a binge on Netflix)...

And, those cartoons bridge a lot of the complaints fans had about Ep 1 - 3...and make them far more epic upon rewatching than they were in the theaters initially.
Because these series were very good in general.

The whole idea of Ultimate spider-man was for Shield to "train" Spidey into the "ultimate".
And he's a teenager.. in school.. with his group of friends.

So well have to see how it goes.
Theres plenty of spidey universes to check (now thanks to the spider-verse.. even larger)

They have long lines for some attractions, but their express pass option is auch lesser used option so the lines don't seem to take forever.

Prices I guess I didn't notice but I do know I've never had a better in park meal than mythos and it didn't break the bank.

Because two reasons.

First and foremost, Disney pulls way more people then UOR. I can't pull the numbers quickly, but if I recall IOA was mid 30s/day while MK is mid 50s/day.

Second, Disney does things their own way.

My family went to UNI for the first time last summer and had a great time even though all the high praise I'd read here left me feeling a touch underwhelmed. The in park prices were comparable and so were the regular lines. We were in a UNI hotel and had the express pass, but it's hard to really compare with fast pass. You get less options with fast pass, but when you have one you hardly stand in line at all. With the express pass you can ride many more rides, but if too many people show up at the same ride at the same time, the lines can get pretty long. It wasn't unusual to have a 20-25 minute wait using express pass, and on that horrible log ride (Rip Saw Falls?) the express pass line took well over an hour.

Depends on the metric.

Attendance & revenue? Exceeds.

Returning guests? Not so much.

Therein lies the problem. Remember the "Fast Company" article where Disney admits that it's two biggest problems are long lines and high prices? Still their biggest problems.... Nothing was addressed.

Context was maintenance quality - ie were all the show features working, However your point is excellent and still valid.
