A Spirited Perfect Ten

I've been picking up those attraction LPs when I see them at flea markets and such. I'm hoping to score a Haunted Mansion one. Of course I could just go happily shop on eBay, but that wouldn't be as fun.

I managed to find a Story of Brer Rabbit one at a used vinyl store for all of $2. The book portion isn't in the greatest condition, but the record itself looks to be in pretty decent shape. I'd love to run across the attraction ones.

New stuff from Tomorrowland this week.

We got new trailer

New Plus Ultra viral page featuring stuff from the 1952 Box and the World's Fair (Password is WED4221964)
http://plusultrasociety.com/

And a clip from that "History of Tomorrow'" short they made for Tomorrowland and showed at the D23 Expo a couple years ago got uploaded. Meant to be a collaboration between the Disney studio and Orson Welles to promote the real Tomorrowland.

So, I cross the entire da mn MK to get a Dole Whip only to find out that they no longer swirl it with Vanilla soft serve (Guess it cost too much!)
Aloha Isle and Sunshine Tree Terrace switched locations last month. The menu at Sunshine Tree (now at the old Aloha Isle location) did not have pineapple/vanilla swirl, but as far as I know Aloha Isle (now at the old Sunshine Tree Terrace location) still offers the blend, unless the machine was down.

We live in a world where the Transformers film franchise (which is now going on its 5th film) has now got a "strategic plan" for the vision of what will happen with the "plot" over the course of the main series of films and any spinoffs they can come up with. "Strategic plan" for a series of films created about transforming robots... from a toy company... after 4 feature films have already been made... and have grossed hundreds of millions of dollars.

Just now, someone thought that they should come up with a plan... and to think they got this far with just Michael Bay and his explosions.

What a world we live in.

At least we don't live in a world where people are all excited about a 100 square foot Millennium Falcon Star Wars themed play area on a cruise ship. If people went nuts over 100 square feet, just imagine how low they could set the bar for Star Wars land?

Oh, still waiting for someone to offer to treat me to the Boathouse (and, no, I won't be putting out for it, either!)

Well worth a splurge if you insist on eating at WDW and are a seafood fan. Fun, if loud, atmosphere, and the food is noticeably higher quality than most places around property (and the local chains). Get in while the Dr. Phillips crowd still thinks it's trendy, before they resort to taking the Dining Plan and start cutting corners.

BTW, those much hyped amphicars? Already at least two break down a day. Saturday I saw a huge crowd watching them launch--as they drove around the lake passenger-less. Also heard from an insider the Italian yacht cruises may be "cancelled before they even begin." Again, expect a more conventional WDW restaurant by the time Disney Springs is fully complete.

Just perhaps the 'Strategic Plan' should be to allow Michael Bay and his screenwriters to do what they do, Allowing the 'empty suits' into the creative process will be the quickest way to kill the franchise.

I take it you've never seen "America's Funniest Home Videos"?

I have and I liked it much better when it concentrated on their version of Lettermans 'Stupid Pet Tricks' and kids doing funny stuff at parties - the more recent stuff concentrates on getting hit in the crotch.

A cat riding a ROOMBA or chasing a big dog or a toddler doing something 'creative' with a cake is a heck of a lot funnier to me at least than someone getting a painful shot in the crotch.

Mickey's Boathouse perhaps serving the same menu as Chef Mickeys...

If I may ask, why? The existing restaurant wasn't a big deal, and I like seeing them add something (anything) to make the SW weekends more enjoyable. Especially if it isn't an upcharge to participate.

Because instead of bringing online more Star Wars events for the fans they choose to sell booze as a cheap way of boosting profits.
