I wonder if Iger is now regretting not going with South Korea for the new Disney park since they just got Disney Channel and the first out of country Mickey Mouse Club.

I can't believe they haven't done a MMC in South Korea before this with the K-Pop phenomenon over there and whatnot. THIS is how you adapt your IP in foreign countries, you find a common point of connection, pop groups in this case, and build up from there.

It's never about the BRAND, it's about how you connect with people. If Disney does this right, they have the opportunity build something lasting, a bone ride institution, in an arena where pop acts have a very limited life.

Mickey and Disney period is huge in SK. Literally go to any department store and they have huge selection of Mickey and Minnie gear which persons 10 to 35 wear out on a normal and regular basis. The Korean celebs oMickey attire on a regular basis as well from watching TV the five months I was there. China may be the second biggest market at the time of the building but SK knows the brand and loves it which lends itself to more success than not.

*** closing eyes, crossing fingers, praying Ryan Reynolds is cast. ***

I can't wait for Deadpool, but I wouldn't mind the Prince Charming movie if he's cast in it.

One can never have enough of Ryan Reynolds. :inlove:
As a totally straight male I am willingly able to admit he's my man crush. I think if I had a perfect dream it would Ryan, Chris pratt, and myself trap shooting then drinking beer. Spooning optional. Who am I kidding I'd spoon if they asked!

So, as I went to bed last night the markets in China were in total freefall. Apparently, close to three trillion in 'value/wealth' were lost. A great story (I think it was Bloomberg, don't have it handy) on China basically losing their middle class.

Today, what happens? Our markets open like everything is normal. And then we start dropping and ... and ... I guess the NYSE has the same technology issues that a tech rube like myself (to quote friends on the PML) because suddenly trading stops. We are now one hour and 25 minutes into the halt.

If ''it's just a glitch'' works for others, then why not use it on Wall Street?

I love the naive who don't understand the amount of puppeteering that goes on in our world.

agreed. Even the media manipulates people..ratings...ratings...ratings....advertising dollars. Don Henley was right. All controlled.
Anyways...
China thing can be scary, worse then Greece.....our stock market is due for a correction. We have been up up up since 2009. Everything needs to balance out. Usually that happens just before the start of a new presidential cycle and last two years.

Better hope the market doesn't crash before Disney starts building at WDW...or else things can get delayed.

honestly, I had "enough' of ryan reynolds after he did that awful version of deadpool (gee writers!.. your movie was worse than a rate F 12 year old fanfic!) on Wolverine origins.
