I don't mind seeing police or security, I have nothing to hide.

I hate that statement. I don't want a police state. And we ALL have things that we'd rather not have the government know about us. Every single person. We do have a right to privacy. ... well, actually since the Patriot Act we have no rights at all unless the secret courts that we never voted to allow to be created allow us to! But that's a whole 'nother subject!

Adventures By Disney is in Egypt, Vietnam and China right now. Beyond the crazies in Miami's dissident population, no one will care when they finally go there. And I'm betting it's a good 5-7 years away.

Disney would do tours to Hell if it existed and people wanted to travel there.

Gotta say I'm interested to travel to Cuba. I heard there's eventually going to be a ferry service running from Key West (no jokes!) to Havana. I love Cuban food, so it feels like a necessary pilgrimage.

Hard to believe, but still true.

Thanks!

That still is hard to believe. I have to believe that it is being pushed up by 3-4 locations with LARGE stadiums where the sport is very popular and they pull in 40-60K a game (oops match!), although that is simply a guess. I'm in SoFla where David Beckham has been trying to get a stadium built and we keep being told how all the South and Central Americans as well as folks from the Caribbean who have moved here are so passionate about the sport, yet every attempt at pro soccer here dies about as quickly as theme/water park plans.

Tickets to MLS games don't even compare in price to tickets to get into an NBA/NHL game. NBA/NHL are $50+ each. You can get MLS tickets for under $25. TV revenue of MLS is nowhere near that of NHL/NBA. Revenue of NHL is 2.22x that of MLS and revenue of NBA is 10.33x that of the NHL. Saying MLS is the 3rd sport among all leagues in the US is a joke.

With MLS Women's team performing so well, perhaps THEY should be featured in An American Adventure instead of , well Armstrong? Just sayin. Soccer has more international recognition anyway.

I didn't watch the match but afterward this thought came to mind. Not to mention it might pique the South American's interest a bit.

Don't they show the '99 women's team in AA's montage? Someone go Tweet at the @EPCOT Explorer, maybe he'd know ...

It's a good thing nobody's ever been shot without committing a crime, or locked up when they were innocent, or that statement about 'having nothing to hide' might come across as pretty ridiculous.

You can't mix per game and season totals. MLS out draws NBA and NHL on a per game average. The only attendance stat which matters. Play games with the numbers all you want. Doesn't change anything.

Your first post did not distinguish between season totals or per game averages:

"20 million + tuned in. The same amount as watched the World Series game 7, and both college football playoff games.
Mls attendance has passed hockey and basketball. the ratings for EPL, La liga, The Champions League, are all up significantly."

Then your second post talks about per game averages. You say that is the only stat that matters and I would disagree. If the other sports had fewer games, they would likely need larger stadiums and arenas for larger crowds that would attend and thus their average attendance per game would be much higher, very much like the NFL. With only 34 games per year, you would think the stats per game for the MLS would be higher.

OK, "I" just feel better safe than sorry. My concern was the "High Alert" status.

Tickets to MLS games don't even compare in price to tickets to get into an NBA/NHL game. NBA/NHL are $50+ each. You can get MLS tickets for under $25. TV revenue of MLS is nowhere near that of NHL/NBA. Revenue of NHL is 8x that of MLS and revenue of NBA is 36x that of the NHL. Saying MLS is the 3rd sport among all leagues in the US is a joke.

Who said it was? I said it out draws those two other leagues, and it does. I said ratings are up across all competitions, they are. Draw your own conclusions.

Without going off on too much of an unwanted tangent, I will say that I don't agree. There are many numbers that matter. If MLS is only strong in a few markets, which I believe is the case, then that skews the numbers.

There are some conclusions that you can draw:

Soccer is gaining popularity;
MLS is popular in certain markets;
It still trails by a large margin the NBA and NHL in other key metrics.

You might want to self-edit my friend because if I can't use words like A-R-S-E here without offending some Midwesterner's wholesome sensibilities, one might think that is a little ... vulgar.

I've been playing good and if someone thinks that i mean something other than the plural of a twitter user, isnt that their dirty mind?

Besides, I haven't had a post deleted in weeks. And Darnit, Sean's replacement needs a good laugh - HELLO CORPORATE LURKERS!

When speaking about attendance figures, per game average is inferred. No one talks season totals.

Anyway, it's a pointless argument. Soccer is growing in this country, and it's already very popular. That's the point I was making.

Like attendance.

Agree with everything your saying here.
