FYI tonight is another Disney night on TCM. Programming includes Davy Crockett & the River Pirates and Disneyland Around the Seasons.

Just another reminder that they have absolutely no idea what to do with the old live-action catalog (not to mention the hours of TV material).

I've said this before but maybe someday we'll get 20,000 Leagues offered on Blu-ray. Of course, the same could be said for Treasure Island, Summer Magic, So Dear to My Heart, etc.

Treasure Island is available on Blu-ray through Disney Movie Club. Every two months they release another back-catalogue title as a "club exclusive". This year's batch included The Absent-Minded Professor and Blackbeard's Ghost.

And from what I've read, the quality has been pretty low on some of those DMC exclusives. At least they're not completely abandoning physical media for these old titles.

I've been happy for the most part with the PQ of the discs. Audio is almost always DVD quality, and never any extras (even if the previous edition had them), but for some titles the jump from DVD-sourced-from-80s-VHS-master to newly scanned 1080p transfers is pretty dramatic.

Though I can't for the life of me understand why this year they chose to do The Boatniks and Operation Dumbo Drop (I kid you not) over the likes of The Parent Trap, That Darn Cat etc.

The interesting bit about Operation Dumbo Drop is that it really happened.

I'm sorry is that the parade that goes on randomly 6x a day in MK and they scream that atrocious "VAMOS!" song?

No, Mickey's Soundsational Parade is the afternoon parade at Disneyland. With PTN in refurbishment until November, it's currently being performed twice per day in mid and late afternoon at Disneyland.

The problem of course is that Soundsational will be cut and replaced with NOTHING.

Why do you think that? There's no recent precedent (Late 1990's to 2016) for Disneyland cutting a parade and replacing it with nothing. If anything, Disneyland management appears to have just gone to the trouble and expense of borrowing (stealing?) the MSEP from WDW so Disneyland has a night parade to run this winter while Paint The Night goes in for its post-Christmas refurbishment. Disneyland's current management seems committed to multiple daily parades, with various day and night versions during peak attendance months.

Soundsational is not being cut. It may go on a three month break after Christmas. I'm not sure why yet - whether it's budgetary or something else, but the possibility is being discussed. If it goes on hiatus, it will return in the spring.

Thank you. That info seems much more plausible and understandable.
