Hearing reports of total power loss at Universal Orlando right now. Wondering what caused it....
I also heard they had to scrap Bill and Ted this year? Maybe Doc Brown holds a grudge...?

You don't love Go.com?$DIS buying $TWTR?....
No. Just no.
(Yes, just speculation right now, but Jack Dorsey supposedly wants to sell to a media company.....)
Here's why, in no particular order:
1. Twitter needs to partner with a company that is Tech first, has a definitive mastery of Tech, and has the ability to monetize Tech. That is not $DIS, no sir ree bob....
2. Cost. Multiple interested parties means bidding war. Means that it will cost far, far, more then the $16.2 bil market cap that it so richly does not deserve at present. And it doesn't have a P/E, because it doesn't have the E (earnings). And $DIS doesn't have the ability to fix the lack of E (see #1).
3. Content. The fact that they see a side aspect of this business as a possible bailout of ESPN's declining margins doesn't change the fact that it's primary business (besides not making money, see #1 again) is TOXIC. And TOXIC ON STEROIDS if the government decides (whether through existing laws or more likely by new legislation) to hold the company LIABLE for it's content. Content like hate speech, non family friendly materials, terrorist recruitment.....
Such a predictable explanation, but I'm in a great mood this AM so why not

Think of all the food they are going to have to trash!
Think of the compensation.
Wonder what the scene is like at the resorts. People in elevators?
Oh that is badYeah the 'Portal' that Eisner bought in 1998 and Disney STILL has not integrated into their infrastructure. For fun go check out http://www.go.com
I actually don't think there is a problem with revisiting previous movies -- Hollywood has been doing that forever really and popular concept constantly get recycled. Not that every story needs to be retold, but it's okay for a fresh take on an older story.
it was just the Universal Park. IOA was fine so I assume the hotels were as well...people on Twitter were complaining that they were being denied compensation.
Oh poor them. I lost power in my apartment for a few hours the other night, wonder if my leasing office will partially comp my rent for October

Hahaha I thought I was the only one.I'm sorry, but I don't understand what any of that means

I was just trying to decipher your original comment. I'm not up on all the lingo, so what's a "pipe"? I assume its not the kind you stick in the ground and run water through.Internet service if you are a large business like Disney, or a college or university the bill for the Intrernet connection is generally tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars a month, In many cases a single 5 minute or longer outage of internet service means that month is 'free'
Hardly true at all. Since most would be written to 99.99% percent up-time, a 5 minute outage would be a lot less than even .01%. Would have to be quite a bit more than that before any penalty would even start to kick in. Google isn't always your friend.Internet service if you are a large business like Disney, or a college or university the bill for the Intrernet connection is generally tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars a month, In many cases a single 5 minute or longer outage of internet service means that month is 'free'

I had thought that level was only if the customer has multiple internet connection points. I would think WDW has several.Actually these contracts are written to 99.999% percent availabilty what we call Five-Nines and a 5 Nines contract allows less than 5 MINUTES PER YEAR. My signature is on a bunch of these contracts. So I'd suggest you stick with what you know.
Battery powered emergency signage and lighting is required by the building code. What really freaks people out on Transformers: The Ride 3D is the elevator gates that automatically lower when the ride E-Stops.Spending 30 minutes strapped into a dead dark ride would really suck, though.
Do these things have battery-powered automatic emergency lights that come on in the event of a power outage?
