A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

Which they did. Discovery Channel had two documentaries on Everest: The one about actually making the ride that's easy to find on YouTube and one documenting the research trip called Journey to Sacred Lands that isn't on YouTube.
Those trips were not actually for research. CoasterRadio.com recently rerelease their interview with Joe Rhode from the September before the attraction opened and he mentions that he will be leaving to film those shows.

Here's hoping you are correct, I'm expecting another NFL debacle as the same folks are in charge.
You're forgetting James Cameron and his infamous perfectionism. He's to Avatar what John Lasseter was to Cars. The short clip we've seen of the animatronic Na'vi looks insane. I know for sure I'll be going as soon as it opens before anything breaks.

they really should re-use gadget and move it to DCA. A nice theme with some rock work and plenty of landscaping this could be a fun little ride that fits perfectly between grizzly rapids and Soarin.

i think that a bit of reworking of the trail and large landscaping area in front of the monorail tracks and hotel would allow for this small coaster to fit. rock work and trees would block out any issues with noise pollution for the hotel especially since the first floors of the hotel wings in that area house world of Disney on one side and restaurant on the west side.

They can even reroute the path so that it hugs the hotel wings closer and use the existing area of path and some of the landscaped area for the small ride and queue

simple inexpensive re-use of an existing ride and an added capacity for DCA in an area that desperately needs some thing to occupy the families that sit around the area waiting for family members to get out of Soarin.
But isn't Goofy's Sky School...another mini coaster just on the other side of that? That would be two mini coaster fairly close together...

It's not the worth the effort. They might as well just buy a new flat ride for the same cost if they want to add yet another small ride to DCA. Gadget's is not a good attraction and very few will mourn its loss.

This. I can't wait to see what happens. If the ride is half as good as the new Pirates in Shanghai, I'll be happy.

Got a TM rate thanks to a good friend. A suite that sleeps six for $50 a night is ... a great way to visit O-Town. I had a CM rate at ASMu that was actually decent ($67.20 a night including tax), but that was for a standard room. And there is no comparing the two. To do so would be insulting to Loews and UNI. Cabana Bay is a top notch product. Great pool area, including lazy river and jacuzzi. Great pool bar and grill. Reasonable prices on quality food at food court. Starbucks in lobby. Bowling alley.

Just no way to compare the 'value' product at Disney and UNI. Disney isn't even in the same UNIverse.
Couldn't agree more, my kids and I now count Cabana Bay as our favorite hotel at both parks. Great theme, great facilities, and always a great price!

Everything we've seen on Pandora seems to indicate that it will be nothing short of spectacular, in my opinion. Not to mention getting what seems to be a true boat-based Disney dark ride... can't ever be mad about that.

I know it's hard with the current climate sometimes, but you should really try a more positive outlook some time.

Seems as though TDO cares for the parks now about as much as they care for River Country.

Deferring routine maintenance to the point of a deterioration tailspin at this level is stunningly stupid. Allowing damage to continue and worsen is always more expensive than preventing the damage in the first place. Homeowners 101. Duh.

What's the goal here? Save on maintenance now and apply that capital towards restoration just before the 50th? Oh yeah. That'll work.

I think I'll start saving $$$ for five years for that b**b job I've always wanted. Of course, I can only reach my goal by eating a crappy diet that costs half as much as my current one. Sure, I'll be able to pay for my fabulous new rack with the savings. Unfortunately, I'll need to replace my entire wardrobe with larger sized clothing while managing my recently acquired Type 2 diabetes with a glucose meter and Metformin. But geez... it'll be worth it!

Welcome to the New Disney Park Management™. :arghh:

Most importantly, Iger emphasized his view of Disney as an intellectual property play with long-term runway, implying that many of the analysts were missing the mark.

Hmm what have I been saying about Disney.... Notably the CEO of Kodak said the very same thing before Kodak blew up. The takeaway is the management does not want to take the normal risks in business they just want OTHER people to write them checks for their IP...
