A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

Looks like a screen, no?

:D

Seriously, is that not from a tv show or movie?

Or a scene in the attraction?

Haha, go check out Universal's You Tube videos. They have revealed some of the animatronics - and yes, that is one. It's looking like there are as many, if not more, animatronics in Kong than in the new Pirates ride in Shanghai. Certainly larger and more impressive.

That's my major problem with Depp these days - Sparrow was an interesting and unique character - now those mannerisms are a crutch used in all his other live-action movies.
The question will be. Is he using them on purpose? or the director outright tells him to use them "because its popular" ?

Kinda reminds me of the mess with the 3rd movie of Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Where David Cross was outright FORCED by a producer, to be on a Carnival Cruise (the producer was also an executive of Carnival). Thus forcing him to give "free" publicity to Carnival. He said he was miserable as he had nothing to do but be traped in a cruise ship.

Good point - the latter would not surprise me at all

Sorry to say mike, but that image looks shopped, there is a disparity in "sharpness" between the girl and the kong figure.

ps, are there new videos?
I agree. The AA is supposed to be 30ft tall though so there would be no way to have that shot with her on ground level. That's what I think anyway. King Kong will be playing on NBC tonight with inside looks at the ride so I guess we'll see then :)

I think that's an HDR image because there is a huge difference in gamma between Kong and the Girl giving the illusion of more sharpness in the girls image because she's higher on the brightness curve

Johnny Depp doesn't work like that. He puts the character together on his own then comes in to perform. The director really has little control over him - just how they shoot and cut his performance. It's kind of his "thing".

Disney's answer to this is Soarin 2.0 and a boat ride, I'm so excited at Disney's superior creative efforts i'm gonna wet myself

I think WDI has just been schooled by UNI Creative.
Credit for this pic I believe goes to @wdisney9000

Considering neither King Kong or avatar land are open how can you make any judgement? If the boat ride is similar tech to pirates in Shanghai then I can't wait to ride it and everything I have heard is its an entirely different ride system then soarin. And I will take an entirely themed land over 1 ride all day.

You know what's funny?
Pandora should be a good addition to WDW and Kong should be a good addition to Uni. It's possible to enjoy both I would imagine without the whole vs thing.

We should be happy that both parks have some decent attractions in the pipeline, even with all the current issues people speak about at WDW and with Iger.

I thought his comparison was to Soarin' Around the World and the Frozen boat ride opening this summer in which case Kong will crush both of them. Avatar, maybe not.

Correct @Mike S , I refer to Avatar as the blue cat people although from the tidbits released so far the only thing that impresses me so far is the scale and bioluminescent plants the actual rides seem quite ordinary.

And of course the greatest irony of all is that Soarin 2.0 is wait for it..... SCREEN BASED!!!!
