A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

This sorta puts Disney on the spot, even though none of it is their fault. Once this story hits full-force (and it will), do they keep Johnny's likeness and voice in POTC attractions after booting Cosby's statue from DHS last year? Do they just ride the storm out? What message will it send either way? My brain is too simple to be able to make big decisions like this...so I pity those in charge who'll have to in due time.

It completely does with a Johnny Depp movie opening today.....

You guys are blowing up this Johnny Depp thing. Hollywood men are untouchable from Byran Singer, Woody Allen, even the Rihanna situation didn't hurt Chris brown as much as people thought it would. For the next few months people will be like poor Amber Heard. Johnny Bad but then next year totally forget about it.

Uh...uh...different planet you live on.

Singer and Allen had accusations without evidence, at least none that has been made public.

To the greater public, Chris Brown is irrelevant except for poor-taste jokes.

Some folks are Teflon, though - grant you - but many more aren't.

Let's talk about Mel Gibson, who is practically unemployable right now in mainstream Hollywood. He will never be a leading man again. That's a lot closer example to Johnny Depp - the actor that men and women both like, that seems like a great guy to have a drink with for the fellas and for the ladies is handsome, slightly-edgy bad-boy with a heart of gold so they aren't threatening.

I won't say he's finished - but this is something that could easily haunt him the rest of his career. Given that he already has been labeled as statistically the most over-paid actor in Hollywood, the performance of this new Alice film in some question right now, and this new scandal - particularly as we have photographic evidence of this incident, to go with the allegations that this has been an ongoing issue...he certainly won't be as beloved as he once was.

There will be very soon a PoTC 6 with a new actor and probably direct to video and he will be the voice of Cap'n Jack from here on out

TMZ has a photo out of Ms. Heard following her altercation with Mr. Depp.

Uhhhhhhh...... He's screwed.
However, the police said she didn't have a mark on her, nor did she say he hit her when they were there. There are also pictures of her the next day at a party with no marks. I'm not saying he didn't hit her with the phone, but I'm holding judgement for now.

Mel Gibson was diminished not because of his domestic charges but because his conservative views and anti-Semitic statements. Nearly everyone in Hollywood with a violent charge who has been male has been allowed back in the lime light from Markie Mark, Eminem, Christian Slater, Mickey Rourke, etc.

I'm not saying its alright but just seems how it is.

It appears that the first night at AK has been getting mixed reviews from guests so far especially the Jungle Book show. Guess we'll have to wait until we see video footage to see for ourselves.

Wonder how the Disney brass is taking the Johnny Depp domestic abuse accusations on this Friday afternoon.
The whole thing is kinda confusing, on one side of the internet.. they claim Depp's wife has been suffering domestic violence for years.
In the other side, that she got angry at him and wants money, thus inventing the whole domestic violence.

No more Disney movies past Pirates 5?
I actually wonder the same. But then, its Hollywood. He might receive a slap in the wrist for being a "loved actor" after he "apologizes publicly"

I mean... hollywood has allowed those with long story of pedophilia and ephebophilia in managers, executives and directors (see Bryan Singer).
Things got more noisy when Elijah Wood talked about the rampant and well protected pedo rings at Hollywood. And noone seems to do anything but to wrist slaps.

Depp was definitely a joy as Sparrow, but the character has become stale and played out. He brings nothing new to the table in the sequels. Since Pirates, many of his roles have ranged from bizarre and misbegotten (Sweeney Todd) to weirdly reminiscent of Sparrow (Alice) to unwatchable (Mordecai). He doesn't seem to have expended the kind of effort that made him famous in the first place in some time. As a result, my Depp expectations (DEPPECTATIONS, if you will) have become terminally low.
I actually wonder if heis being asked again and again to "act like sparrow" in his comedic movies. (like in Mordecai).
He also has let his Sparrow "movements" permeate other movies indirectly (There is an scene where he does the same mannerism as Sparrow in Sweeney Todd)

I actually read the TMZ, and theres a interesting bit..
"As for why Depp and his people are calling BS ... first she never filed a police report, and she posted Instagram pics after the alleged beating and never showed any injury."

I dont know why it reminds me of that other celebrity who claimed rape a few months ago, ruined a person's life and then was found to be a liar in a leaked report containing voice.

Well see how it pans out.
While I really hate domestic violence and violence against women. This case seems very fishy. And particularly how fast she went to ask monetary support (50k a month).

Singer and Allen had accusations without evidence, at least none that has been made public.
You mean because they(Singer and co) harassed the accusers with lawsuits and were protected by "statutes" of dates?

Anyway, one or two accusations are ok, but when you have a bunch accusations and rumors and even indirect remarks by current young actors regarding Singer's boy parties.. You start to see a pattern.

Who knows, but reading further.. TMZ says police found NO evidence of any abuse.

http://www.tmz.com/2016/05/27/amber-heard-johnny-depp-cops-no-injuries/?adid=hero5

So, Depp charmed the Cops, or she is just blatantly lying to get rid of Depp.
If would be hilarious if the injuries were actually make up related.

Whats interesting is the whole linearity of her behavior.

  1. Depps mother passes away.
  2. 3 days after, She drops a divorce order on Depp, demands a sizeable amount of Depp's fortune for herself.
  3. Depp fights and blocks her demands to take most of his money.
  4. She suddenly claims she was victim of abuse.
  5. Days later, She now claims she has picture evidence of the supposed abuse. (Despite the cops finding no evidence before).
  6. She now tries to appeal the internet (probably trying to pull the Feminist groups and Social Justice groups on her side).
No idea, but the more I read, the more it seems like she is just sick of Depp and wants to pull a Paul McCartey's wife (aka chunking a sizeable amount of fortune).

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
No sure if its true about Depp or not and my opinion matters not a jot. If it was me I would have lead with the domestic abuse line before the negative comments about filing for divorce so soon after Depps mothers demise painted her as the villain, but its been a good recovery. Shows how important in celeb world it is to properly manage your news. I'm sure the settlement money wont go amiss either.
If Hollywood turns its back Im sure Mr Depp will just stick to his secondary job of playing geetar.

Alice received an A- CinemaScore. Personally I think the critics have a bias against Johnny depp. The movie was great, and audiences seem to be liking it.

That's my major problem with Depp these days - Sparrow was an interesting and unique character - now those mannerisms are a crutch used in all his other live-action movies.
