A Spirited 15 Rounds ...

Yeah, you are doing a really good job convincing us that what people say makes no difference to you, ROFL. ;)
lol! No, you misunderstand. I'm interested in what people have to say. I just couldn't care less what you think of me or my intentions and this is primarily because you have a tendency to insult people as soon as you disagree with them. But you do you.

That will be a heck of a tall order. Ticket presales are running only about 13% ahead of Rogue One, and TLJ is opening into a very crowded Chinese box office right now with several "local" films in the middle of being unexpected smash hits. And it will only have one week to make its big splash, as Jumanji (which has performed better than expectations everywhere so far) opens next week.

It probably would do better if they had held it until the end of the month, because it's turning out to be a very bad time to open in China.

It's actually completely unrealistic...but I'm trying to be fair. But then I read a couple Forbes articles - which have been sarcastic/making excuses for the sluggishness (comparatively...and this is Star Wars so you can't compare it to avengers or the dark knight) of the box office for weeks - and the Chinese gate saving this is near 99% unrealistic. It would be a major upset. And for it to do the $200 mil it now needs?...it would have to be a pittsburgh pirate sellout. By that...I mean disney would have to buy the tickets themselves, give them out to the homeless outside the theaters, and duct tape to the seats with free popcorn.

But...there's another problem...and @MisterPenguin would appreciate this...I didn't go with my gut and researched this:

This is fourth weekend in NA...and last jedi is absolutely gonna HAVE to best the fourth weekend gross of TFA ($42 mil) by a good bit to have any shot at $1.4...movies are basically done at 6 weeks...TFA lasted 7 and that was with near nothing at the end. They need $75 this 3 day cold in the dark of winter weekend. Domestic gross is $400 mil behind right now...adjusted for inflation is worse. The foreign markets are tapped out...china isn't gonna save it (they don't like Star Wars...which is agreed upon by every industry analyst who ever bothered to look into it) and they are wayyyy down.

I'm sure I'm under estimating by something...somewhere...but the numbers are starting to look less blurry in the distance.

My final tally prediction is $1.35 (I revised that upward) worldwide and an 34.5% drop from TFA leading into Richie Cunninghams solo and Abrams "episode 9: everyone's dead except that dude from Girls"...

...he might have to get Jennifer garner AND Matthew fox to come in as secret jedi on that.

...but remember...that's only my opinion and I completely made it up...all the critics love it.

No, I've just responded in kind to your passive-aggressive dismissals of everyone who doesn't feel as you do. I've given you back some of what you have put out there. I'm not going to further fall into your trap of making everything about why people are posting or what you feel their motivations are, though - because again, for all the many posts you have made on this topic, it's difficult to find many at all where you actually talk about the film.

In any case, lesson learned - you are going to keep up your little act, and aren't going to own up to your passive-aggressive trolling, so no use in responding to anything further that you say. You do you, buddy!

What track is that?

Seriously. WDWMagic1974 has all but retired from this board. He has shown up like once in the past six months. As usual, this is the catch-all-thread it always has been in regards to everything related to the Disney company and what they produce.

I don't know him...but the rumors in cyberspace are that he's so angstful that he makes kublai khan look like a big teddy bear...so he probably shutdown when his blood pressure hit 450/287...

And that's deep praise coming from a cynic like me...

All negative reviews/slow sales (comparatively, before I get the clueless "oh...we only made a billion, what will we do?" Nonsense) are due to childlike feeleings of disappointment and looking for things to hate...

It's so crystal clear...

It's not becuse the movie was a narrative mess, it's a sequel that was in almost no way shot as one, it doesn't advance the trilogy that it absolutely needed to, it wasn't bashed by the franchise's main character as wrong...right, before he spontaneously came to his senses...and...then they killed the coward hologram...so the ice dogs could evac 18.3 people...and

...And I'm trying not to relive it to keep the criticisms down...had ALOT of stupid cgi characters in there...as in I won't call it prequel level...but wayyy too much time and money was spent on utterly useless things. Many of those to support absolutely dead end, non-compelling side stories.

Admiral Akbar and nien numb MATTERED to jedi...the space slug mattered in empire...even the little pig creatures and the forsaken ewoks played a role...even if they looked ridiculous...

That didnt occur to me till the second viewing...

But the good news is, none of that can even be remotely real..I must have had a bad burrito before I watched it...Twice.

Again...I'm trying to be so fair...but the patronizing nonsense is looking really beneath you...there is more here than sour grapes and you need to at least admit that so we can move on (I'm ready...and that's rare)

We are all of roughly the same age/demographic it appears...you really can't play dad. I dun know what I saw...back then and now...

If admiral fletcher had noticed a Mickey Mouse tied to the bow of the Japanese ships at coral sea...he needed to sink them anyway...not say "Mickey doesn't do things wrong, I'm a big fan...let's let them go"

I mention that because disney and Lucasfilm (I'm Wondering if there really is anyone left...especially in the story group that disney /Kennedy - who looks about as credible as the 25 year old from FSU they stick in front of podium in Orlando to say that they're raising prices because "people actually want it" - appears) has pumped the tires of so much in interviews and fan events over the last few years...what great writers they paid, huh? Reboot and a 90 degree turn...

I feel like there is blind faith and praise of both disney and lucasfilm and it's not warranted here. Gotta take it case by case.

They need to get the shells from the 16s...now...before this gets anymore out of hand and rick mccallun all of a sudden looks competent.

Bring in help...for everyone...them and us. I have stock too...I just think it's dumb to run a frivolous entertainment company based on it.

I mean do you even hear yourself? You have basically moved from one insulting and/or patronizing post to the next in this thread, and then you tell me that that patronizing nonsense is looking really beneath me. That's just...wow! :hilarious:

The most hilarious part of this whole double team you have going on with AEfx against me is that the post I wrote to him (that got him so worked up) was me legitimately trying to be nice to him. I guess I can see how he took it the wrong way, but it wasn't meant the way he took it. At least the evening has been entertaining... :joyfull:

That is absolutely not patronizing...

The middle was a non-sequitor...cheap but self amusing within the context of "retirement talk"

The other two are apparently an AC/DC concert broadcast to a deaf school...

(See...that's sarcasm...not patronizing)

Do you understand what that word means? Saying you feel sorry for somebody, or doing things like "look at you!" Or "ok, bub" is patronizing and completely devoid of meaning.

I trying to be nice and asking what the hell is wrong? That's almost altruistic at this point considering how far you've strayed.

And all the stuff about the reality of the box office situation...that's equal measures truth and Sarcasm...like a martini

(That's sarcasm too...fyi)

These two bookend quips were just submitted to merriam Webster for examples of the definition of "patronize"....

I doubt there will be any resistance to the suggestion.

...not that is a bit patronizing...but not exactly a reach in the context of this nonsense. Stop responding with similar nonsense...I beg you...so we can leave each other alone. I'm starting to regret trying to be nice and you seem like a good E-dude...

What's scary is I think you actually believe your own nonsense.

Anyway, I apologize to everyone for my part in hijacking this thread for a little while. Moving on...
