A Spirited 15 Rounds ...

I'm not sure that's true. Live in South Korea never seen a TDL ad anywhere. I know when korean celebs go to Japan they post all about TDL on their SNS as its like mandatory you go there or USJ if you are visiting but nothing more than that.

I was wondering as I thought maybe OLC had to sign an agreement regarding advertising only within Japan so as not to compete with the "official" Disney parks or something

A third park has been rumored on and off for a while....the last one I heard was they were trying to build a smaller, indoor theme park somewhere else in Tokyo...not in the same area, but that was several years ago.

Disney and More says this is a third theme park but others say different. It doesn't seem to be clear at this point.

Its translation errors. If you use google translate it says additional park. If you use the original Japanese it says expansion.
Aside from the translation errors...

I did see something indicating breaking ground in 2025...
...if true, that's a park. They don't "expand"
In Tokyo like they do in Orlando. The owners there actually want things open and they pay for it to get done.

apparently its a 3rd gate themed to Japan with a 3 or 2.7 Billion Dollars price tag and they said that there is already a specific area for the 3rd gate, New characters and Attractions, constructtion begins 2025, and an official annoucement will be made around May 2018.

My guess at this point is that most of the surface lots for Tokyo Disneyland will be replaced by a parking garage. One way they could do it is by building it behind Lost River Delta and due to the already hidden sightlines there for the hotels, it would be not been from the park. The Bayfront Monorail station could then be used to bring guests to the parks. Could they add trains to the line to deal with the increased demand?

Hmm so maybe Wall Street likes full fledged expansion instead of just cost cutting?

Looks like Oriental Land Company already announced this week some renovations: http://www.olc.co.jp/en/news/news_tdr/20171130-01e/main/0/link/20171130_01e.pdf

Basically, they are modernising Tokyo Disneyland main entrance by reducing the ticket counters from 32 to 18 and having 6 of those staffed and 12 automatic ticket machines. Those will offer tickets in japanese, english, thai, indonesian, chinese (simplified and traditional) and korean. They are moving away from turnstiles and going to flap style entrances, increasing the number from 48 to 54.

A three story parking garage will be built.

Apparently, Frozen is moving to TDL for a 2023 opening.

Woah! Thanks for tagging me. Ironically I missed everything else being discussed around this other than your comment on Frozen.

My initial comment towards Frozen is the newspaper clipping image shows the expansion extending towards the side of Arabian coast, which was the more recent expansion slot I had heard of for it still being attached to TDS. I don't know how it would be accessed behind Space Mountain.

Now, on to freaking out about this third park talk... first I'll catch myself up.

Nothing suggests a third gate. They talk about looking through Disney’s IP holdings and doing something more Japanese to appeal foreigners, but no third gate. Given the need for land reclamation, we’ll know when they’re ready to build a third gate because it will be a decade plus effort. (IMO, the fact that they’re looking to buy land suggests they are taking the first, tiny steps)

That newspaper graphic refers to this area.
