A Spirited 15 Rounds ...

Unfortunately, it was said on the CEO thread that Chapek is Perlmutter's proxy, which is why he's getting the look. Perlmutter wouldn't be considered for the job himself due to age (74), and would prefer being puppetmaster versus in the public spotlight - as his insane behavior has shown (the whole tennis club fiasco).

Replacing Great Movie Ride (a POTC/HM/Horizons-level classic) with the Mickey Cartoon ride - for me, the catastrophic equivalent of replacing old Penn Station with New Penn Station - is all I need to know to see a continuing dimming future under Chapek. Was hoping for a turnaround under a new leader who gets(remembers) it.

While Ike is a big fan of Chappie, I would be hesitant to read more into it unless Iger has own hidden scandals and Chappie and Ike have access to the proof. Otherwise ... it's just a ... a rumour.

As to the GMR replacement, I hate the idea. There literally is nothing left from the Disney-MGM Studios. That said, I know someone who has seen a partial of the attraction and thinks it may well be better to many people than either of the two SW attractions. Really!!!

GMR was about the history of film and it's evolution, It was not about the latest HOT IP, It put some distance between HOT IP's, Yet It did miss things like Star Wars which made SciFi mainstream, It needed an update and expansion, Not a new mickey to extend the copyright another 70 years.

Yup. We need to get away from this idea that if it hasn't been big in the iPhone era, then it has no place in the parks. You update things. You freshen them. But people still love old movies. Even spoiled Millennials. The idea that because something is years or decades old that it has no appeal to people is BS of the highest magnitude.

You don't need a raccoon with a machine gun to be relevant. Will Rocket be relevant in 2026? How about 2035? Will people care or recall him sorta like comic fanbois recall Howard the Duck?

Nothing suggests a third gate. They talk about looking through Disney’s IP holdings and doing something more Japanese to appeal foreigners, but no third gate. Given the need for land reclamation, we’ll know when they’re ready to build a third gate because it will be a decade plus effort. (IMO, the fact that they’re looking to buy land suggests they are taking the first, tiny steps)

Too bad. Looks like OLC has put out an official press release on their Japanese language site basically stating the newspaper articles are not from them and they are still officially exploring plans beyond 2021.

We will also continue looking at our development plans for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022 onward, aiming to achieve sustainable, long-term growth. We will make bold decisions aimed at impressing our Guests with the major evolution of the Tokyo Disney Resort as a unique resort. These will include developments making use of multiple expansion sites, full-scale renewal of entire areas, and increasing the number of hotel Guest rooms.

It all sounds good, but we've been down this road with OLC for a while now. They are the master at kicking the can down the road. The thing I've kept an eye on for a number of years is the promise of capital expenditure supposedly taking off the subsequent year. It's crept up, but the following year is the same old story. Next year we'll really start spending. It never quite does.

You cant report a crime based on second hand information
I don't believe that is accurate. Just a quick Google search turns up the concept of "good faith". I'm not a law expert but that seems like something that would be applicable here.

Furthermore, this weird reframing that the boards are wanting the perpetrators outed here is about the furthest thing from the truth. Appropriate channels and authority, not here, is where this should be taken.

EDIT: Link: https://www.childwelfare.gov/pubPDFs/immunity.pdf

EDIT 2: Because I know misdirection is usually fundamental if/when this garners a response. It should go without saying that the same criticism for reporting that I apply to those on the periphery is more so for those on the inside. There are issues with the whole system. This isn't soley about Iger, Lassiter, or any one specifically. It's about people knowing, either first hand or second hand about crimes and selecting self preservation over reporting the crime.

People loved JoePa.
Not even that, really. I mean they did, but JoePa actually did exactly what he was supposed to do for a non-witness, per rules that are still on the books. He reported it to his bosses so they could proceed. The bosses got time for messing up. But they were far from the only ones to mess up, Sandusky was just an extremely skilled Shoulda gone down in 1998 when he was investigated by the police, but managed to weasel out of it.

Unpopular opinion: I don't despise toy story play land in HK. I mean it's happening, only DLR is safe, albeit receiving the maligned Pixar Pier.

That said, this looks again like a marginal step up. I do despise the parachute drop tower, Woody's Roundup looks actually pretty nice as a tradeoff. I do wish at least one of the other rides were subbed out (slinky). The intamin half-pipe should have been doubled, its overall queue design is a marginal improvement though.

Woody's roundup confuses me though, either there is only 1 track with four loops or the 3 loop design implemented with all their other whips has been reduced to 2... or the concept art is wrong. The 2/3rd capacity basically means not a single ride in this land will be rideable with Shanghai's crowds.
