No, thank you for being a decent human being and understanding why that behavior is repugnant.

The amount of (bad word for doo-doo) on Disney Twitter today is astounding and that is saying something.

And, no, I don't really think you can care about the people in St. Martin who lost everything or the people who left homes in Key West and may never return at the same time you're hanging at the BC or WL or POP and praying "Lordy Jesus, please let Disney open at least the MK by noon tomorrow."

Personally, I hope the parks are shuttered for multiple days (that means more than two) to dissuade this latest sick fan fad that trips to WDW during hurricanes are fun and special. They are nothing of the kind and I have been trapped there multiple times, including last year for Matthew, which was basically a non-event in that area (not that we knew it would be, of course).

I just can't comprehend this type of person (of course, I can't comprehend a large number of Americans these days. Period. End of story!)
Not closing the parks on Saturday was a big mistake.

What is it about lowlife, no life bloggers and Disney that brings about such a toxic stew of the worst of humanity?

Why is it that some people actually decided that 'testing' Disney's emergency response was a way to get added clicks, YouTube views, FB views and, ultimately, $$$?

What kind of piece of human excrement does one have to be to check into a WDW resort just to ride out the storm and make other people have to care for them and their needs when their own lives, family's lives and homes may be at stake?

Why would anyone give a flying (blank) about competing with other bloggers on this?

To be clear, I am ripping anyone except for someone like @WDWFigment who was trapped at WDW by the storm and a canceled DCL voyage.

I am not naming names to dignify the behavior and give them the attention they crave.

Or other bloggers, who are spending all day retweeting 'friends' (no one has real friends in that biz) showing how amazing WDW CMs are ... and playing right into Celebration Place's spin that "WDW is the bestest, safest, most MAGICal place in the world" to ride out a natural disaster because DIS learned from past years and will offer $15 Boma Breakfast buffets (about what it is worth) and put foamheads in the resorts and ... since Loew's is so pet-friendly, allowing anyone to bring their pets (I love animals, but if you think Disney cleans those rooms greatly when kids pee on the floor, I would invite you to stay in a room after a bulldog with gastric distress just spent a few days in it!)

I really, really, really love the themed entertainment business. I love much of Disney's products. And Disney lovers are some of my absolute dearest and most cherished friends (many from this very community). But the amount of mental illness, arrested development people of all ages and total self-absorbed lowlifes makes me want no part of it.

There are many reasons this post is going in this thread and not the Irma one. And, no, I am not saying everyone posting there is anything close to my above labels.

But looking at what Irma has done from the Caribbean to the Keys to SW FL and now up the state ... what kind of lowlife does one have to be to make sure they are one of the last ones out of EPCOT, forcing CMs to hang around so they can get pics or video? What kind of lowlife does one have to be if they are a local and they decide that since they can't work, they might as well close down the MK?

I dunno. I just know that while we may both like Disney and be passionate about it, we have absolutely nothing in common. Nothing. And I have no use for these people as members of the species.

Now, have at it ...

They did something similar back when 9/11 happened where they tried to comfort guests.

Quite a few of the local blogs are posting/Tweeting from the various resorts. It's definitely intentional that they went out of their way to stay there. It's one thing to share updates from people who had no choice. It's another to do what they're currently doing.

I thought it was weird that so many of them seemed to be tweeting from there, but I figured they seemed to be tweeting from there normally, so it wasn't that unusual. It paints it in a different light if they actually booked stays just to document it.

This might be the first time in all forum history that I couldn't agree with you more. The world is big old place out there, outside of that Disney bubble. My heart goes out to all those who do not have billion dollar governments to help them rebuild.

I got blocked by W D W N T so I guess a millennial girl hating on clickbait while innocent people lose their lives was just too much to be handled.

Thinking of all those affected, the animals, the humans. May we show compassion to all.

Since I'm likely now going to be out of power for quite a while, I've decided to make my final post till then to reiterate what I said in the Irma thread earlier in the week. The same thing happened to me when I worked at Universal during Charley. What was supposed to be a partial shift so we could prep my unit for the storm ended up being a full shift because morons actually showed up to have fun for the day and expected to be fed our full menu. When we finally closed and got the unit secured, I was making a quick exit through the park yet there was a family literally running to get on Spiderman before the park closed.

Here I was desperately trying to get home to my pregnant wife yet here was a family desperately trying to indulge themselves as if their entertainment was the most important thing. To this day, I think of that family (and everyone that came into the park that day) with the utmost contempt.

Why blame the customers? The place was open, they were charged the full amount. They are not the ones who should make social policy with their dollars for billion dollar profit UNI.

Maybe your boss should've closed shop. Or maybe all the employees should've just walked out. Or maybe the union should've told UNI there were not going to be any employees. Maybe Americans should join a union, rather than thinking that is for other people, below their (entirely imaginary) social standing. Maybe America should vote socialist, instead of letting themselves be tricked into voting for big corporations while licking up the lies that this is in their own interest. (We see what came of that, employees working overtime while their homes are about to be swept away because American workers are the only first worlders with less rights than a twelve year old girl in a Bangladeshi sweatshop)

It is everybody's fault. Everybody, except precisely that family going on Spiderman.

With the rumors of Shrek closing too for that old rumored SLoP ride it seems like Uni is trying to change a bit of the "screenz" stigma at USF by getting rid of what's getting long in the tooth.
I didn't realize Shrek was big enough for a dark ride, but that would be a great addition to the park. I wouldn't miss Shrek, it's pretty underwhelming compared to Disney's 4D theater attractions (not including that short film festival of course).
They had the life of pets replacing HOP in the parade.
Secret Life of pets is replacing Hall of Presidents!?!?;)

W D W N T isn't posting anything during this hurricane! If anything, they are in this group of innocent people trying not to die. And if your talking about their Hollywood Studious post, that video was made on Friday when Disney was supposedly revealing the Star Wars and Toy Story models.
Look, I'm not completely defending W D W N T , and I don't hate anyone who doesn't. Just know that things aren't always as they appear. And I will agree with you on this, I hope everyone in Irma right now is safe and dry (and not purposely in a Disney hotel)!

I respectfully have to disagree with you. Simply because you can do something does not make it right, it is up to you to make the choice if it is right or wrong. No one put a gun to this family and said ride Spiderman. It is the fault of this family and no one else

Universal opened shop that day. Shouldn't they be at fault for offering that family the choice to come to the park that day?

Thanks to Spirit @WDW1974 for posting to let us know he is OK. I hope that you continue to be and that all our CM friends are safe this morning. Marie
I can tell you that I'm safe now as the 1,000th resident of the Haunted Mansion. I'll be sure to greet anyone here when you visit. I won't be a creep and follow you home like those other guys though.

People actually purposefully booked a trip to Florida to ride out a hurricane so they can blog about it?
There may have been people that did that...I believe that Tommy Boy from W D W N T booked a hotel room so he could be onsite during the hurricane. Someone from Streaming the Magic did the same at AoA as well.
