Wonder how well Cristopher Robin will do in China?
Why do you ask?

Oh, never mind.

Reviews for A Wrinkle in Time are coming out, and it’s not looking good for Disney. Luckily, they’ve got Black Panther as a backup if AWIT doesn’t exceed expectations.
The book was my childhood, I've started to learn that critics opinion are only that...an opinion. They just get paid to say it.

Not that reviews aren't a reflection but I'll go and form my own opinion.

I stopped reading movie reviews from critics a loooong time ago. I can get the vibe of reaction to a movie elsewhere. Posts here, on social media ... But I'm one who likes to form my own opinion. Reviews are fun but some people put a lot of stock in them. It's a person like you or me giving their opinion. They aren't some expert who's studied film (in most cases ... lol).

I'm mixed on AWIT. I have no personal investment in it as, even though I love reading and read a lot as a kid I don't remember this one, so I'll have to read it. But, while I think it's not going to bomb, it probably won't be a massive hit by any means. It just depends on what the movie tries to be. Tomorrowland, and others failed because they didn't know what they wanted to be. I don't think it will bomb only because AWIT is familar to a lot of people and it has a diverse cast that people are craving to see on the big screen. But I can't say I've really felt compelled to see this ...

Exactly. I think the difference between this and Tomorrowland is there is a central plot and a clear storyline. Tomorrowland...I don't even know. I'm not expecting a blockbuster by no means but I don't sense a total bomb either.

I definitely don’t see it bombing (the cast alone should keep it afloat), but depending on the success, Disney might reconsider sequel plans (of which I’m sure they have thought about).

I read the first book and part of the second when I was in sixth grade, and even though I love science fiction, this was a series I couldn’t get into, unfortunately. I know it has a place in some people’s hearts though.

After checking Wikipedia, it turns out I did read all of the second book- A Wind in the Door- but thought it was a little out there.

I really am curious to see if this does well enough for a sequel or two.
