That trailer was fun. Really excited for Incredibles II, but yeah I agree about hoping it's original. That's just a small blip though.
I’m mostly here for Frozone reacting to anything Jack-Jack does. I want the villain to not be the Bob Odenkirk character, just to be surprised... but Pixar villains have been pretty predictable lately.

They'll most likely have a grabby groper as the villain who will have a change of heart and turn out to be a hero.

Odenkirk's sister is the villain. Even her name spells it out: Evelyn Deavor

will be a big loss in the years to come.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with what you're saying, but I do think it's the best thing for people like you and I.

Ryan's shows are typically great to binge watch, so Netflix is a great fit for him. I'm sure Disney would have used him more for Hulu, but at the same time, for us, Netflix isn't going to be bad. I kind of see it as a win for us. He'll be happier and I think that'll translate better into his work.

It’ll work better for him, likely moreso than Shonda, whose shows are built around appointment viewing. Will more follow Ryan out of Fox before the merger is finalized? Bob even went to speak with Ryan before he made the decision to leave Fox. Could the defections be so considerable in their scope that the merger creates a brain drain? My position on the Fox deal, which hasn’t changed, is that Disney could do this by itself, which is hard. Talent is just as important as the IP and distribution gained from this deal. If you find and bring great talent together and create a positive culture based on growth, great IP will come, which will in turn necessitate distribution channels.

American Horror Story needs to end- the show hasn’t been good for awhile now (Cult wasn’t great, but it was the best and most cohesive season since Season 2), so I’m not upset about this. I do hope that Feud and American Crime Story can continue without him though, as I really enjoy those shows.

They stay at Fox/FX.

Let’s kick off the “Black Panther” discussion.
“Black Panther” is a better “Tomorrowland” than “Tomorrowland”.

Please remember to use the

tag.
Topics to be discussed will be SDL, TDR, D23 Expo, Mary Sklar and how they all connect with WDW. If you want to talk about how much you love BB-8 or Thor, want to discuss box office of various summer films (money and popularity does not equate with quality as examples like Walmart, McDonald's and Starbucks prove every day) or talk about how both Bob Iger and Donald Trump are better human beings than Walt Disney, this isn't the place for you. So just leave. Now.

I'd simply ask that people stay on topic and report posts that go way off. This forum is a mighty big place and there are plenty of other places to discuss why charging for FP (what IS coming to WDW) is simply good business.

Im not sure Black Panther was an approved topic.

Eh.

I thought Black Panther was fine.
It didn't live up to the hype, but then how could it?

Terminator 2: Judgement Day was also a better version of Tomorrowland than Tomorrowland.

Captain Nemo is supposed to be in the works too.
There was David Fincher/Will Smith remake. I recently discovered a bunch of concept art for that cancelled project... http://www.wilrees.com/gallery-5

In Hong Kong news, HKDL's losses doubled with a small increase in attendance:
http://variety.com/2018/biz/asia/hong-kong-disneyland-proclaims-recovery-losses-deepen-1202704689/

"New attractions for 2018 include: An 8-minute “We love Mickey!” projection show on Main Street U.S.A. (in March); launch of the first African-themed “Karibuni Marketplace” in Adventureland (also in March); new stage show “Moana: A Homecoming Celebration” in Adventureland (May); and, Summer special event with new Disney-Pixar themed “Water Play Street Party!” (June)."

Anyone else feel HKDL's problem might be its lacking those "Holy Smokes!" attractions... the kind that overwhelm and sometimes scare you, yet make you want to get back in line and ride over and over... I'm talking the visceral feeling people had to rides like Tower of Terror in '94 or Splash Mountain in '91 or Everest in '06. It has also never had the signature Disney style attraction of the 60s-80s: the long, atmospheric AA musical experience, such as Pirates, HM, GMR or the EPCOT Center omnimovers. It could easily be argued that Mystic Manor and Grizzly Gulch fit the bill as the equivalents of HM and Big Thunder, and yet they still haven't worked to drive attendance to standard Castle Park levels.

Tim Delaney proposed a $750mil Pirates Skull Mountain-centered land (it was called "the most impressive WDI model I've ever seen" by LP Lee Mac) and got canned by Rasulo because of its extravagance. Maybe that would have been the one huge blockbuster HKDL has needed to break through the ceiling and achieve desired attendance. Instead of taking a risk and going for something monumental, the 2013-2023 decade will have seen steady investment in more moderate additions. A sensible approach and nothing to complain about, but it's a strategy that doesn't appear to be working (the upcoming additions look good, but will any make visitors go "Holy Smokes!"? until possibly 2023 (Avengers)). Looks like Delaney was right to swing for the fences in 2009.
