A Spirited 15 Rounds ...

Another point from that thread: It exists.

While it's good to have a dedicated sub thread, not everyone visits the DLP forums on this site.

Plus, Spirit himself has brought up plans to redo WDSP in his threads before, and this is pretty big Disney theme park news.

It's certainly more relevant than people's opinions on the latest Marvel movie.

Correct....and it looks lousy there...just as it will at DHS. Why couldn't DHS gotten the Frozenland and Marevel Land expansion instead of Toy Story? Or even better, Flesh out Pixar Place to represent many Pixar films including Monsters Inc, The Incredibles, Up...etc. The 2 attraction Toy Story Land is really underwelming.
If you look at the concept art it appears they might be getting Alien Swirling Saucers as an addition for their toy story land.

I wonder if there is a reason for that on WDWMagic.com?

At the end of the day, this is a chit chat thread in WDW News, Rumors, and Current Events.

Pontificating about DPL is as off topic for the purpose of this sub-forum as adjudicating Black Panther.

The mods have decided to allow it and the progenitor of the thread has shown no interest in policing it himself for several months.

At this point, if the thread will not be allowed to die, then I don't think anyone is in a position to dictate what the topical guidelines should be.

Glad to see they're adding new things. Hopefully there is a good plan.

Disneyland Paris gets €2 Billion for redo/expansion of WDSP, featuring Galaxy’s Edge, a Marvel Land and a Frozen land.

Personal take: Glad to see Parc Disneyland has been spared, for now, but you should just spend an extra billion to tear down WDSP and build a new, quality second gate.

I would agree but I'm not sure they have the capability these days of building something better from scratch.

Wow. Replace Frozen and Marvel with a fully fleshed out Pixar Land and Indiana Jones and they could have the perfect plan for DHS.
May be better than nothing, but now it’s a UNI park. Nowhere near an equal to DLP.
You say that like it’s a bad thing :p

Very nice to see WDSP get the scale of redevelopment/expansion it desperately needs.

Agree that it would be a very welcome surprise to have seen WDSP go in a more unpredictable, never-done-before route in terms of content. Still, can't complain. Opens the gate to get Frozen out of DLP's Frontierland and maybe, long-term, make Discoveryland more about Verne and Wells than SW and Buzz.

Cause it is. WDSP 2.0 isn’t a theme park.* It’s an IP multiplex with interchangeable IP lands no different from a UNI park.

I want Disney to build Disney THEME parks, not Iger’s IP parks.

If Disney had a brain, they’d be looking to exploit UNI’s weaknesses, like themeless parks, against them. A European UNI park could be in the offing, so how would WDSP 2.0 be different from that park?

With all the acquisitions, I’m afraid that ship has sailed no matter who is in charge.
Not so sure about that. I used to think that too. However, if you take the 20+ year view, a must for a capital intensive industry with a multigenerational audience, projects like WDSP 2.0 will hurt the company and its IP families because guests will demand more than IP multiplex way of thinking provides.

It's a better expansion & redo than what DHS is getting IMO.

On some level, yeah, I agree. But we don't know if it's a full Galaxy's edge, or what all of Marvel entails. To be fair. And they're also adding a ride WDW is getting (Alien Swirling Saucers, or at least it looks similar). But the announcement is better than the one for DHS, and more along the lines of the kind of announcement I wanted. The DHS announcement needed updates to stage shows, theming of the soundstages, an animation courtyard redo, a third new land would have gone a long way ... so many little things that Paris seems to now be taking care of.

I haven't really seen a thread for this but Frozen on Broadway did it's 4 first previews last week at it's home in the St. James Theatre in New York City.

Those 4 shows grossed a whopping $926,840 or an average ticket price of $137.43. If they would have had a full 8 show week they would have grossed upwards of 1.8 million.

THIS IS PURE INSANITY. For a new show, just in previews? My mind is blown. They'll be in the 2 million+ a week club with Hamilton (they do about 3 mil a week now) and Lion King/Wicked (which happens only during peak season) before no time.

Frozen for the win!!! Wait till that Frozen 2 comes out - It will be Frozen mania again. Hopefully there will be a Frozen Land in DHS like Paris is getting.:):D:eek::happy:

Hopefully they do address this a bit more. It really is just lands the park. That being said I'd rather spend a day at that park than at Hollywood Studios :")

Is that a replacement for the Cars spinner?

By building a park with a studio theme in the first place this is pretty much the way to make it better. Going all in of putting you into movies.
