Its a company wide rule tho...not just the art department...I just happened to "slip thru the cracks" when they hired me...mostly because they needed me to replace someone they fired...

Sounds sort of like the military...in order to get in, you need to get a haircut first.... ;)

I was cruising through the forum when I saw one with 300 posts, i couldn't belive it. What i can't belive is i read most of them (skipped the chit and the chit and desperate attempts for dates) :animwink:

Ok. here it is.
Disney Phd is my husband and he found this site in Feb of 2000 while we were planing one last trip as just the 2 of us. I was 8 months pregnant and it was winter in Michigan. We spent a lot of time on the computer. Mr. Disney PhD is in fact a PhD in Chemistry and teaches at a nearby college. We leave North of Detroit and have been to Disney 6 times in the 8 years we have been married. We are both 30, and Disney nuts. Each year we don't really plan to take the trip again, but then winter hits and WDW calls our name. This year we are going early (Dec 13-20).

I am a clinical Social Worker (psycho therapist, not a "psycho" therapist :drevil:) and I usally don't analyze the people on the post. Most recently I am at home part time taking care of our lovely baby girl who I just know will love All Things Disney.
Way back in the "dating days" we had a joke that my husband was Eeyore, (kinda gloomy) I was Piglet (a very small animal) and some other friends were Pooh and Tigger. Well the joke continued and now my daugher's room (and whole house for that matter) is full of classic winnie the pooh.
and now because I am the thread slayer (every post I respond to dies very quickly) this is most likely the end of this very long thread. But remember "were going to WDW in 30 days"

Welcome, DisneyPhd! And fear not, you won't slay this thread--it never dies! :)

Michigan? I think if I lived in Michigan, Florida would call me in the winter, too. :)

Thank you for the welcome :) You know it is truely amazing how many people who now live in Florida once lived in Michigan. I think it is the connection with I-75 running from the U.P. of Mich all the way to South Fla. Frozen people just get in the car and don't stop until they hit palm trees. Funny every winter when we are there and soooooo happy to not be in Michigan, we meet all these other families who feel the same way. I truely belive to keep your sanity when living in "the north" you need to take a trip down south at least once a winter, and I can think of no better place to thaw out then WDW:slurp:

PS...glad u found us! Now, what does it take for you to become a Contributing Member of our club...it's only $5 per month and you get to talk about all the non-contributing members without their knowledge. Plus..you'll find out what we've been saying about YOU.

Tramp, I beg your pardon!!! Are you insinuating that the rest of us are idiots!! I may have chosen to be "just a Mom" but I'm not living in an intellectual vacuum! Even though my husband has advanced degrees, he has enough intelligence and common sense to acknowledge my intellectual superiority. ;)

I'm not saying that I'm smarter than anyone; I'm just not less intelligent than most. ;)

And I would be happy to have an "intellectual" conversation with you...YOU'RE the one who always ends up talking about s**!!!

Ok...so I seen this thread and said, What the hay...my turn.

Hi, My Name is Jerry and I'm an alcoholic...Kidding...Kidding...I'm a kidder...I kid...but my name really is Jerry. I will be 25 on 30 NOV (ugh!).

Born in Chicago and raised in a few of the surrounding burbs, and up in WI. Yeah, I Kinda like the Packers and the Bears...go figure... not much of a sports person anyway...read on...

I am a Journalist/producer/writer/editor/reporter here in the windy city. Phew..thats alot. I did do alot of on air (radio) work, but I am more on the producing end now (running things). I produced for a highly rated Duo for the only Newsradio station in Chicago now, and boosted their ratings in only 5 weeks. The day after the Prez Election Day, (or lack there of a prez being voted in) I quit. I was offered a sweet deal I could not turn down from another broadcast outlet last year around this time...yesterday was my one year anniversary.

I have been in the biz for 6 or 7 years now...I forget...maybe more... I lost count..anywho... I worked for CBS (mainly there news division) in one way or another on and off most of my career. But I have not in the past year..THANK GOD...but I still do file a piece / or break a major story once in a blue moon.

I have had a great run here in Chicago, but I hope to land a job in Orlando soon, so I can be with my significant other down in FL.

Ok enough of that crap... I found out about Steve's lovely site here thru an article about WDW I read in Travelocity's Magazine awhile back. In the piece they listed Steve's site as a great link or a great site to check out or whatever. Since then I have been hooked! I read the forums once in awhile, but I was post-shy..till last month…. All you guys and gals seemed to be (and you are) such a great, fun group, and I wanted to play! :animwink:

Ok...that’s my story..oh yeah and, I am into Disney, mainly the Parks. Hence me posting here and reading here. CYA

Ohkay...Y'all should probably already know me...But oh well this is cool

My name is Sheryl, but everyone calls me Sheri because basically, that's what I tell people to call me. I'm 13 y.o an from Manchester, Ct, which is about 20 minutes from Hartford. I'm in 8th grade at a school with 108 kids in grades 6-8. My view on bein in a small school: It rocks! I won't go in2 explaining it, but it's a whole popularity type thing....It's also easier to pass notes when theres less people, but I won't let my secret get out seeing as I know there are teachers on these boards ;) :) I play soccer and I've been playing every summer since kindergarten. I also take TaeKwonDo but I'm sopposed to be like, 3 belts higher then I am and I'm begining to get mad at them soo....yeah I have drk brown hair, blue/green eyes...And my brothers think my boyfriend is totally weird because He said he doesn't want 2 watch certain movies with them, But my brothers are stupid so it doesn't mean much. I have a doggie named Buddy N he's really cute :)...And 2 iguanas named Zeus and Pita (Pita is short for pain in the ***...Use yer imagination) I like Zeus but sometimes Pita really lives up 2 her name.....I'm the youngest in my family (Excluding pets) so being youngest on these boards doesn't bother me to much...Um I've been to Disney World only 3 times, but my parents made a deal that f I get honor roll at school (all A's or B's) we can go every year
(not happening anytime soon :()

Ummm I guess that's all....yeah

First of all, you're right. And I'm keeping an eye on you. ;)

More importantly, however, now I have a good reason for nagging you to do your homework.... So get crackin', missy!

Well, gee, Sheri, it's only for your own good.

Let's compare:

mightyduck: passed 8th grade with good grades; visited WDW 3 times this year.

Sheri: isn't studying as hard as she could; visited WDW 3 times in her entire life.

Coincidence? I think not. There's a correlation between the number of visits to WDW and one's level of education.

(psst... to the rest of y'all... hush about the flawed syllogism--Sheri won't see it ;) )
