A Call to Arms: Fans Will Embrace the Walt Disney World Resort's 40th Anniversary

After our trip later this year we are planning a December 2011 trip to celebrate the 40th along with the hopes (fingers crossed) of something new in FL.

I am visiting in April 2011, I know a little early for the actual anniversary but am more than happy to wear a T-shirt or badge round the packs to celebrate. I can spead the word that way too.:sohappy:

Perhaps I should add another bullet to the list:

• We will videotape and photograph the public fan celebrations we hold, and flood said electronic outlets with these videos and photographs

It may not be a major anniversary celebration, but something very likely will happen.

While things may not yet be announced, there is plenty to look forward to with this coming anniversary. Keep yours eyes open for some news in the not-too-distant future...

Hopefully something goes through.

They could always market it based on 'exciting new improvements we have in the works' and open a Blue Sky Cellar that gets people excited for a later trip (the perfect WDW marketing campaign...one that gets people on repeat trips). I'm not sure how well that would work in practice, but if done right, it might work. :shrug:

I dunno...and then no real substance once there?:shrug:

2. Soarin' Over the World
3. Original Imagination comes back
4. 3 new WS pavilions
5. MGM Hat removal
6. LMA removal (residential street return)
7. Phineas & Ferb replace Sounds Dangerous or BATB
8. Fantasmic boat gets 40 deccor, as with Disneyland's 50
9. Earth replaces It's Tough to be a Bug!
10. Tarzan Rocks returns
11. Beastly Kingdom area
12. Polar Region area
13. South America area
14. Alien Encounter returns
15. Last, but not least, the jokiest joke in the history of joky jokes;

I will probably go in 2011, but probably not for the 40th anniversary. The event looks like a single day event and will be crowded. I prefer a year long event that people can experience when they can go.

My hopes is the 2021 50th Anniversary starts on Jan 1 and goes through Dec 31, 2021 or oct 1 2021 through Sept 30, 2012. I will go for 4 weeks during that time if they do it.

Yep. Apart from the fact this one will be planned

(we bumped into each other by accident during a very very wey MVMCP in the Adland Veranda whilst trying to warm up / dry off. Hadn`t seen each other in 2 years and we literally met unexpectedly out of the blue over a trash can)

No to make you jealous, but I actually set it up that my classes end on Thursday, so that night would be the departure time for me.....

But, I think I'm going to wait and see what TDO actually comes up with first before filling up the gas tank on the Family Truckster....
