A Call to Arms: Fans Will Embrace the Walt Disney World Resort's 40th Anniversary

We will not allow this historic occasion to go ignored. This will not be a rehash of the 35th--a pin will not suffice to appease us.

But did you really think they should have made a huge deal out of the 35th?


I'm all for a celebration, I just wish they'd do it with the rehab'ing of rides and/or the addition of some well needed new ones. I would gladly do without any form of celebration for that.

But that aside, anything they do will be welcome, as long as its not some hacked budget driven excuse for something.

The 35th definitely was not of the same importance as the 40th. As far as I know, the milestone dates are 20th, 25th, 40th, 50th. The 20th probably isn't as important as the others.

If we got either one of these, I would be very pleasantly surprised. However, I think they are getting very close to the point in time where, if they don't start construction soon, nothing (well, nothing on a large scale, at least) they begin building will be open by the 40th.

That point in time hasn't come yet, but it has to be fast approaching...

MI over in DAK was supposed to be under construction by now. I'm guessing the same for TLM. JII had a prelim closing sometime early last year. The stage is set, you are right...but nothing is happening.

However, Martin, several others, and I to some extent think that things are slowly changing. Just from reading a few reports over the last few weeks show that more projects are being done, and considered. Maintenance especially in the MK and EPCOT are also looking up.

Just leave the castle alone for the most part...:lookaroun Tokyo had a nice set up for their 25th. It was very subtle.
