The 40th Anniversary for Walt Disney World will only involve that one resort - This means Disneyland will not be part of it

Space Mountain will reopen early 2010 (We know that already )

The Castle will assume be decoroated since there was one for DLP TDL

New Mark VII Monorails set to be September 2010

All moderate resorts to be renovated

Toy Story 3 Characters to be placed in parks

Polyneisan is to install hot tubs

Test Track Will get a new sponser witch means New Pre Show Car show at end. Ford has a connection with ABC = Disney

well thats all the info so far

Pleasure Island will reopen late 2010 with new clubs ADMISSION will be charged

La Nuba will be replaced with A Disney On Ice Rink

40 Years Of Magic ( Much like Disneyland First 50 Magical Years )

Hollywood Studios will host a fireworks show dedicated to Walt Disney Picture Films NON Pixar

Ireland Added to World Showcase





This is only rumors so dont believe everything

There are a few things in that list that sound incredibly feasible and likely...

Who doesn't like lists of new, reasonable rumors? :D

So a brand new fleet of monorails shows up in 18 months? I find that highly, highly unlikely. The Mark VII monorails at Disneyland began to be heavily rumored and discussed online four years before their 2008 arrival, and pictures and artist renderings were available online by 2006. How could an entirely new fleet of monorails built for WDW's larger beamway be up and running in 18 months time when no one else has said a word about such a thing?

I'm thinking much of the rest of that list is highly suspect as well.

Did the Cast Member who told you this list of 40th Anniversary offerings at least give you the correct change back for your churro? :D

Is there a better way to celebrate a milestone? These things all sound like they're just going to happen by the 40th but don't really have anything to do with it.

New retro merchandise? But I thought WDW wasn't the "nostalgia" park? I mean it's just 40 right, not 50. :rolleyes:

If we got new monorails we would be getting the Mark IIX. DL and WDW has never had the same monorail model. Consider that the Mark VII will be almost 4 years old by then? And I also agree with 18months being too soon.

Then again, maybe Disney has gotten better at keeping things under wraps lately...

You're missing any new attraction anouncements.... :brick:I hope the anouncements start becoming more interesting as the year goes on!

Plus Florida could never live with the failed air handling (no A/C) on the Mark VII. You think the current monorails have an interesting smell...:eek:

Yes, that makes sense. Especially since DL will be celebrating it's 55th just one year before.

Of course very likely. Possibly the only thing on this list to actually have anything to do with the 40th.

Not happening. Construction would be underway by now for a 2010 delivery. The $$ for this would be much better spent elsewhere (LM dark ride maybe?)

Resort refurbs have been talked about recently, especially if the economy forces closure of entire resorts at a time, then a refurb would be easy. The CBR is already getting lots of rooms rethemed.

This would happen at the release of the movie, and has nothing to do with the 40th.

When is GM's contract up? If it was a 10-year contract, then it would be soon, but again, this has nothing to do with the 40th.

Thanks for giving us something to think about! Most of the list I can see happening (except the monorails) but it's not really a list of stuff earmarked for the 40th as much as it is stuff that would happen anyway in the next 2 years.

They either just extend WWYC (isn't it 18 months anyway?) or not have one for 8 months.

Also, there is no reason that the 40th celebration can't start in Jan of 2010. Its not like they haven't done that before.
