I think it’s the highest quality streaming service out there...and I believe I’ve tried them all except peacock...

But the problem is they’ve “fired their bullet” with all the vault stuff...need content now and that gets expensive.
We shall see.
There’s a few hundred hours of legacy content still not available on the service. Hundreds of cartoons and episodes of the Disneyland show. Most of this content was restored and rereleased on the Disney Treasures collections in the early 2000s. There’s really no excuse for the absence of this content, and I feel like it would be an easy inclusion for consumers interested in the “Golden Ages” of television and cartoons.

The first Mickey Mouse cartoon and the opening day telecast for Disneyland aren’t even on it. To me, that’s just bizarre.

Mickey forces Minnie to kiss him after she says no multiple times. I don’t know, maybe there’s worse things in some of the other shorts they have up but it’s not something I would want to put up in 2020.
And as a result for his inappropriate behaviour, Minnie breaks up with him and throws a horseshoe in his face. If we can’t show a fictional character receiving consequences for doing something wrong, then I seriously don’t understand how we expect real people to learn from REAL mistakes.

Regardless, there are far more inappropriate things on Disney +. The real reason it’s not up there is because “they don’t feel like it”.

I would like that stuff...not gonna move the needle for normal people though

This is a thread about 32,000 cm’s losing their jobs. I would expect it to be negative.

Actually... it’s a positive thread... we are all sad that things that we loved are leaving! I loved hoop-dee-doo, yeehaw Bob, citizens of Hollywood, citizens of Main Street, the Grand Orchestra, and Main Street Piano Players.

I’m glad the voices, Carol the piano lady, Mariachi band, and Jammitors still have their jobs at Epcot and I’m glad the dapper dans and Main Street philharmonic are still performing at MK. I’m not sure if that’s enough to get me to renew my AP, but it’s enough to get me down there if the virus gets under control before the end of May!
And every other thread as well. But don't mind me. Carry on.

Every other thread?

Perhaps you’re unaware that the covid pandemic - which is about to really raise hell here in ‘Merica - is the biggest disruption in Disney park history (by a ton) and is reshaping the entertainment and travel industry in real time - unplanned??

If you want sugar sweet threads...there are many trip reports and “how many days” tickers for the light hearted stuff.

Might even get one of those “what meal do you HAVE to do first?!?” Ones...they’re amusing.

The documentaries have been good. Hamilton is amazing. The new muppets series is good.

I’m not against more original content of course.
Really enjoying "The Wonderful World Of Mickey Mouse" that arrived recently, it's a retool of the Paul Rudish shorts but extra longer. I also finally watched 101 Dalmatian Street early this year since it used to be exclusive to Disney Channel UK and parts of Europe. Same with The Legend Of The Three Caballeros.

That's been going on for awhile now. Disney is trying to get as much money from people while cutting as much as they can.
Totally agree, WDW’s “charge more and provide less” policy has indeed been going on for a long time, and it looked to be OK with the fans, I remember just before the pandemic how super mobbed WDW was, even EPCOT. And while yes, the economy was super great and there was a lot of disposable income, WDW fans were truly drinking the WDW Cool Aid.

Because of COVID, the chickens have come home to roost for WDW..

It will be interesting watch what happens. The economy was destroyed by COVID, and now with the new administration coming in with taxes and regulations and costly social programs, there will for sure be less disposable income for the working class to give to the mouse..

And less money for the Mouse and Universal means less jobs for the people of Orlando. I was watching TV this morning and the prediction for tourism in NYC is that it will take to 2025 to equal the tourism of 2019. If Orlando takes that long, Orlando and all the Cast Members and Team Members are in for a very hard time and the blame is not on either company.
