I knew the result - want me to spoil the gymnastics for you? How about the next Phelps race?

Can't ruin anything for me today that 1010wins didn't ruin on my way home from work! I actually gave up trying to avoid the outcomes - its much less upsetting just to seek out the results that to have it ruined minutes before the race!!

**Spoiler Alert**

NBC Reports: "Today in gymnastics, Nemo14 was preparing to dazzle the crowds with an outstanding performance on the beams. Little did he know that Bob had cleverly replaced that white powder gymnasts rub on their hands prior to performing...with boric acid! Nemo began itching and burning in the palms something fierce, causing him to not even qualify. Bob, on the other hand, did a flawless routine, and took his gold medal proudly while heading off to the next event."

Gymnastic chalk. Did I ever mention that my husband used to have a pommel horse in the garage? We got rid of it about 20 years ago.

Oops...um. I still blame you Nemo. Had my fingers not been sticky from the horse leftovers in the water polo pool you slipped me, I would have clearly been able to type "SHE" which was my intention all along.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need a glass of something cold. Watching the track & field competition earlier today made me realize how incredibly out of shape my sorry bum is.

Oh come on!

I hope he did not dismount onto your foil.

Would you like a list of all of the sports equipment we - individually and collectively - currently have, or have had, over the past 40 years or so? :D Unless it involves heights (although I did ski up until a few years ago, and my husband did rock climb when I met him) or requires a large team (such as football - but I did play sandlot baseball as a kid, and intramural basketball in middle school until it became clear that I wasn't going to get any taller) and is risky (will snorkle but I do not scuba dive) one of us has probably tried it. Not made it a hobby, but at least gave it a go once just for fun.

My husband gets into sports more than I do - he likes to compete, I don't, and haven't in decades. I fenced a few matches, on a strictly local, casual fashion, before I met him. But the equipment was expensive, so I kept it. I think I finally gave it away a few years ago. Just as he discovered working out in the garage wasn't as much fun as going to the gym, so abandoned the horse until he finally gave it away.

Now I'm only involved in competitions as a referee. My husband still competes in two sports, but gave up competing (but still plays) the third. Age is taking its toll. Time to stick to the less strenuous ones.

Leaving politics out, happy B'day to President Obama. Turning the big 5-1 today.
