I have to say those Brits are such gracious hosts. Even when they beat the US and win gold they still play My Country, 'Tis of Thee to make us feel welcome. Such good sports.

NBC's coverage sucks. We all know it but tonight has been a joke. Wasting the first hour running a Tom Brokaw doc. What a joke. It is almost 11 pm and we still haven't got to the Women's Volleyball final and I bet we don't get the whole game. We got to watch the US team live the whole Olympics but for the final we get a tape delayed game and probably not the whole game. That just sucks.

I liked the Brokaw bit but agree it shouldn't have run in such a prime slot. If they want to weave in material on London here and there that's fine, but they could have excerpted 5 minutes or so of the Brokaw piece for prime time and run the full hour some other time - like in the week leading up to the Olympics.

The second week of the Olympics is horrible for me. I really don't like track and field so.....but anyway I wished NBC actually showed other sports during primetime. I managed to watch live rowing on sunday mornings but I would have like to see the other activities. Not badminton or ping pong.

But my adopted country did well. Tom Daley won the bronze. We won in rowing.

i like how NBC was like ceremonies start at 7 and an hour later....nope we fooled you. a big thank you goes out to the IOC for giving the tv rights to NBC. but then again...they were the highest bidder

I'm loving it! The music is great. Just wondering how Seacrest got on NBC. He has to stick himself in every televised show, ever.

The only thing I thought was worse than the closing program was NBC's coverage of it. Very disappointing all around.

Id imagine most of the bands would be lost to those of you in the former colony. The ceremony has been lambasted in some quarters for featuring too many "old" artists, but to be fair theres only so much UK (c)rap that the general populous can stand, especially as they all perform in the same standard issue accent despite their origin. Brraappp.

However the Queen should be having the tower readied for the ginger and the lycra clad munter for murdering classics.
