Is it wrong for me not to root for my home country :looks around:
Nope. Two of the people I was rooting for today were not representing my country (Jessica Ennis & Mo Farah). I just like 'em both and thought they deserved the gold.

And look at the cyber-Olympics taking place between Nemo14 and myself. Nemo14 has a Disney name while I do not, and these are Disney boards. Yet everyone here is pulling for me (most likely because I am winning by an historic landslide).

So to answer your question...no. Just pull for whoever you like.

Yeah, she's great!

Delpopolo expelled for positive test

American judo fighter Nick Delpopolo was expelled from the Olympics for doping Monday, saying he unintentionally ate something before the games that had been baked with marijuana.

Anyone happen to catch the Katherine the Duchess of Cambridge chatting with the USA girls gymnastics team last night? Made me think...I wonder what it's like to know that ANYONE in the world would want to talk with you, and have the confidence to spark up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, anytime. If I did that people would be saying, "what just happened?" as I walked away. Kate does it and it's super cool. Royalty. Must be nice....

As awesome of a job as London has done pulling these games off, I do have one small complaint. They should have the torch located somewhere outside the stadium, where people on the streets can walk by and see it in person. Seeing the large Atlanta torch in person back in '96 is something I'll never forget. We drove right by and there it was. The London torch deserves a larger public audience than it has. Just saying.

That has been a common complaint there - that and the NBC coverage. If it helps I'll light the thread on fire for you....

I still think the summer Olympics needs a belly-flop competition of sorts. Regular diving is so expected.

*Sits at finish of 100m hurdle race, checking Facebook on his i-phone while waiting for Nemo14 to catch up.*
