2005 shaping up to be quite a year!

There is the Buzz ride, and I think they will try and market both the Tower of Terror and the new Space Mountain as being new rides for the 50th Anniversary...even though the ToT opens next year, it seems Kali River Rapids was "new" right through 2002. With as little as they have planned, they will have to at least pretend they are doing a lot for the celebration--at least we are guaranteed that Cynthia Harriss will show up well-dressed, and will have several pin events and no shortage of new 50th anniversary merchandise...

I am very excited!!! Perhaps this is Disney's punch at the economy...the final leap that will get it off its butt! I would have to say, though, that of al the proposed attractions to be opening, I am the most excited for Expedition: Everest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:sohappy:

Weird, maybe but I really like the idea of new lands being put. This is much needed at the AK

Edit: I heard they were also revamping: HM, IASW, POTC and of course Space Mountain...

are the other attraction (except SM) revamps good to go?

Maybe it's just me, but I still think DIsney needs to return to the old days and CARE better about everything they already have before adding new stuff.

Nothing is getting revamped at DL except Space Mountain.
Well, Small World got a coat of paint, but that's it. Everything else just gets routine maintenence.

For the 50th, at this point they are getting:
The updated Space Mountain.
New fireworks.
New parade.
Merchandising events.
Possibly a DL history exhibit.

Buzz has not been confirmed, only rumored, like other things.
Any e-ticket will be 2006 or 2007.

Nah, they already have a Walt display at Disneyland.
The display they "may" get will be of Disneyland history.
You know, concept art, photos, old ride vehicles, etc.

That's the most depressing news for a park I have ever heard!!!

How lame can this get for DLC??? Same goes to WDI!!! Couldn't they think of something better?

Trust me.
WDI's ideas were out of this world.
It would have been wonderful.

However, the people controlling the money, TDA, didn't cough up the cash. Don't blame WDI for the financial constraints they are having to deal with every day.

Our Soarin' will not be a clone. It will have the same ride video (we think), but WDI is working to raise the capacity, which means the ride system will vary at least slightly, and the queue will certainly differ drastically. That is why I say it'll be like the various Haunted Mansions--same general ride, different experiences.

Not for awhile though...it still hasn't been announced, and even TDS's Tower, which has been announced, isn't opening until 2006...

I think you're missing the point here...

Imagineers call copies of attractions built for other Disney parks, "Direct Lifts".
In other words... not new... done that... etc. etc...

Take Hongkong, for example, will mostly consist Direct Lifts..
