they would get ride of the lion king show. Enless it's a mini land like dinorama in dinoland u.s.a. And will mermaid lagoon fit in the old 20000 leagues lagoon. it look's a lot bigger then it.

sorry about lion king but there actually going to be enclosing and air conditioning the theater that show is so popular :( id rather see a shorter version of the broadway show

We are not getting clones of Mermaid Lagoon and "Flik's Fun Fair". They will not duplicate ride types, like having two teacups rides w/in 200 yards of each other. Same idea, different theming...like the various Towers of Terror, Haunted Mansions, Space Mountains, etc.

Sort of like Dumbo/Aladdin/Astro Orbiter bit?

Who me?
Nah!
I'm probably the biggest Pollyanna the company's got.
They should hire me to just be Rasulo's official "Yes" man.

These are truely some of the most encouraging rumors I have heard in a while. I do agree though that Disney probobly is going to pull out some sort of huge attraction in DL in 2005. It just doesn't seem right that Disney World will be getting like 5 new things and DL will only be getting two. But hell, I'm not going to complain, I only go to Dinsey World anyway so that means more for me. :) Grizz, you are a genious with the Stitch in the Tiki Room idea. You should send in a suggestion or something to imagineering or something, get that idea out there! The mermaid lagoon thing is cool, but I was kinda hoping for maybe Journey into the Center of the Earth.. Now that would have been an awesome 4th Magic Kingdom mountain! Oh well, Disney is still bringing us a lot of new rides in the next 2 1/2 years, so it should be awesome. I'm already trying to convince my parents to schedule a trip for the 50th anniversary when I come home on a break from college! :sohappy:

Does anyone else find it strange that there is a rumor Disney will add Mermaid Lagoon to the old 20000 Leagues Lagoon? You're talking about a whole land at TDS versus one lagoon from an extinct ride. It just seems like there isn't much room. Not to mention that someone mentioned building behind the lagoon, but there is a road directly behind it that takes you to the Utilidors. I also think the Fliks Fun Fair rumor stinks. Why would we add another crappy carnival land to AK? I'm tired of seeing amusement park rides put up in Disney parks. And for those of you who aren't to keen on the Stich Encounter I'm pretty sure it's got the green light.

1. Looks like it's too late with Stitch in the Alien Encounter

2. I would get my letter back with a response, "Regretably, we do not accept ideas from the public."

Thanks, though! :D

yes that would be cool.. but Disney's never accepted attraction ideas from the public. If you send them something, they will either mail it back, unopened, or you'll get the letter than they don't accept suggestions from the public and your letter will be destroyed

Mermaid Lagoon is not IN the 20K lagoon; it is behind it, where there is enough room for a new land.

Once again.....Where is all this room for a new land behind 20,000 Leauges???? Directly behind it is a road, and not much further past that is the railroad and the Transportation Building and Reedy Creek is across from that. I don't see room for a whole new land back there.

I hope that is true. As beautiful as Mermaid Lagoon is, we don't need another kiddie ride area. If they feel the need to add more kiddie rides, improve Toontown.

Stitch in Tiki Room sounds like an awesome idea. And i'm someone who prefers the new Tiki Room. That being said, i'm sure AE won't change all that much by adding Stitch. Hopefully they will improve the effects as in my last few visits, my headrests haven't worked too well.

Darn, I was going to send an idea about putting Buzz Lightyear's spinning seats into the 360-degree theatres!(after walking all day I'd love to sit and spin in Canada).

Well, keep in mind, the 20K show building is large....Also, the Grotto would make a great entranceway to the lagoon..I beleive there is land back there:)

Firstly, keep in mind that all of this is speculation at this point. I haven't confirmed anything beyond the rumor stage.

However, there IS room behind the 20k lagoon for Mermaid Lagoon. ML is sort of a mini-land. Similar in size to Flik's Fun Fair, about an acre to an acre and a half, I would say.

Look at the area on the middle right side of this photo. That huge show building is the 20K building. Just that building alone is almost big enough for Mermaid Lagoon. There is plenty of room to put it back there.

If they want to....

Lee - you are right , that show building is huge! What have been some of the other ideas bandied about for that area. Personally, as I have stated b4 ML is a bad idea, with Toontown literally next door. When I took the Keys to the Kingdom Tour i was told by the castmember that there had been talks of a villain themed ride or mini land in that area. Was there any truth to that?

Werent there some rumors about a Villian Mountain attraction going in there? I think it might have even been a thrill ride. Anyways, the pictures I've seen of ML look great. However, I dont think MK needs another area like that. I'd rather see them use that space and building to put in one phenomenal attraction instead of several ordinary rides.

Villian Mtn. was never close to happening.

It was a blue-sky proposal at one time, but died off at some point.

Same deal as Fire Mountain...or Geyser Mountain at DL.

As far as I know, nothing has ever made it far into the development stages for that area. It's been pretty much ignored.

Rumours, rumours, rumours - it has been confirmed that the 20,000 leagues area is going to be home to....... <b>"Expedition, Mission: , 3D, Soarin’ Ladder Adventure" </b> Disney officials say that this new attraction is set to incorporate the best of Disney Imagineers technology with the beloved character - the Mission:Ladder.
