2 Disappointments

When we were down at the world last week, two of my wife's favorites at the MK were gone. I was so sad, and being the "Disney Head" of my family, I was determined to "fix" it for her. My fixes were patchwork and I am hoping someone here can steer me to a better sloution for the next time we are down there (Sept).

1- The FencasyLand Refurb has closed Scuttles Landing (behind Dumbo). The CHERRY icees here were probably here favorite treat at WDW. A CHERRY icee at WDW is a rarity, as most stands carry only strawberry. Solutions: Kaki Gori at Epcot, but that is more a snowcone than an icee. And also, the Hess station near Beach Club had a pretty good icee for 99cents. Question: Where else in the world can you get a cherry icee?

2- Her next favorite snack at WDW was sold at the snack stand that sits just beyond the moat between the hub and Liberty Square. They used to sell fresh Caramel Corn there, but it is no where on the menu now. That about broke my heart when I saw her face after this second let down in one day. Solution: Bought a plastic bag of prepackaged Caramel Corn at BC Marketplace, but it is no where near as soft, fresh, and good as the other. Obviously, these bags had been sitting there for days, not just made that day. Question: Is there another stand that sells fresh Caramel Corn anywhere in the world?

Um, I've never seen "strawberry." It's never strawberry. Sometimes raspberry but definitely not strawberry. Not "Icee/Slurpee" style anyway. There's usually always Cherry as an option.

Such as:

Magic Kingdom

The Lunching Pad at Rockettower Plaza menu
Frozen carbonated beverages $3.69 (ddp snack)
-Coke, cherry, blue raspberry
-served in a souvenir sport bottle $5.49

Epcot

Liberty Inn menu
Frozen cherry slush $3.69

Club Cool
(don't remember the price but they do Cherry and Coke there too)

These are the first two right off the top of my head. I know there's more but I don't feel like looking through all the menus to find the rest.

All is most assuredly not lost.

When did they stop selling the caramel corn? :veryconfu That was on our "Must do List" every time we go.:cry::cry: Please bring back the warm delicious caramel corn to the Sleepy Hollow!!! :slurp::slurp: There we go with that word CHANGE again, Not a good word for me, Everything else around us is changing, why can't the World leave things the way they are, this changes everything. What happens to making memories at WDW with our family and now we have to change our memories? What's with that? It's bad enough taking out Toontown, the last 14 years our sons have taken their photos thru the years in front of Mickey's House at the Mailbox. Kinda like our growth chart. We use to use the giant Mickey and Minnie at the AAA travel center in Ocala, but that closed to. By time our kids take there kids to the "Most Magically Place on Earth" it's going to be a totally different place and maybe not so Magically!!!!!

Lordy...where to begin?

Toontown was NEVER built to be a permanent space. It has just evolved into a fixture, because TDO was too cheap to take it out and replace it with something that could eat up as many people per hour as this on glorified meet and great.

Your memories are permanent just the place where you chose to make them isn't.

Caramel corn?? Is it REALLY that important to make or break your experience at WDW?

^^^ What he said ^^^

I dunno, what does it say about someone if there entire day/trip is ruined because they couldn't get a certain treat or drink? :lookaroun

Just because the two of you don't have that one thing that you LOVE and that has made it a great day for you for years, doesn't mean people that DO are wrong.

Serously... some of the posters here are ridiculously rude.

I agree, the OP never said it ruined their trip. It was a disappointment. I know I would be disappointed if a snack or two down there disappeared, I'd be let down but my trip wouldn't be ruined.

Good luck finding replacements, or hopefully the same snacks in another spot!

I wasn't talking about the OP but to the poster that was bemoaning every single change that they perceived.

Sorry if you find me rude, I'm just trying to be realistic.

I'll admit I misread it at first myself. I thought, "Man did I overstate it or something? I have always thought of "Uncle Doug" (as I think of him, anyway) as a friend. Then I looked closer and determined he wasn't talking bad about my wife.

Just to be clear, still the best day we have ever had at the MK. That's saying a lot. Just looking for some tips, that's all.

Thanks, and I should have quoted instead of using the up arrow which can be ambiguous at best.

Thanks MagicMegan and SnowWhiteMomma. I feel the same way but I see no matter what I seem to say people have their own opinion. I thought I was giving my opinion to the topic but I guess I thought wrong, when I thought this forum was to discuss topics. Never once said didn't have a great time, just said it's not the same. I guess when I don't agree with people I just don't give my opinion I see there are others out there that do it for me.

And for being "realistic" if I wanted realistic, I would stay home and watch the world around me. I want "Magical" that's why I go to Disney to get away from real life and enjoy the making of Memories!!!!:sohappy::sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:
