When was your first trip to wdw and were you celebrating anything in particular?

We're getting ready to go back to wdw with my sister for an all adult trip to celebrate her 40th birthday. We've been to many times to count but found it fun to realize the first time we went was October 1972 for her 2nd birthday (a little early since she's actually a november baby) and this time it's to the same place but for her 40th. I don't think there are to many places you can say are appropriate for either a 2 year old or a 40 year old celebrate a birthday.

My first real trip to WDW was a few years ago. I landed in MCO on my 27th birthday. Visited MK that day and stayed for 9 days total. It was a great place to celebrate.

My first visit was in '72, long before Disney decided there was a need to celebrate something. It was just spring break and the park was brand new.

I went in 1986 and 1996 for a day-visit to MK, but my first real trip where we stayed on property and did the whole shebang was last October. We were celebrating nothing in particular, but I went totally unprepared for how much I would adore everything about Disney. Now I'm a total Disney FREAK!:ROFLOL:

March of 1991. I was 10 and a half years old. I guess my parents felt I was old enough to appreciate the place. It was spring break in Canada the week we went. Nothing special. Outside of 2009, I've gone every time in March all but one time with my family.

For me it was September of 2008. I grew up going to DL but this was my first time to WDW. For my wife I think it was around 83 she says. She was 2. On my first trip I was 31. It was well worth the wait. We were celebrating our 7 year anniversary even though it was a few days before we got there.

Dating DW and I horribly but;
My first trip was in 1995 as a forty something soon to be retired, Army officer with his new wife. I had been to Disneyland in the 50’s and again in the 70’s so I was expecting more of the same. I wasn’t expecting 3 parks (then) water parks, all the resorts and restaurants.
DW had been to WDW once, for 2 days during spring break when she was young, Epcot had just opened then.

I was way to young to recall the very first trip with my parents...but what i recall as my first trip was in 1996 with DH and 2 DD. DH was like lets take the girls to WDW this year for vacation instead of the beach. I was like...we cant afford a WDW vacation. He then said the girls and i are going come if you want. Well, 14 years and 11 trips later we have 282 days to wait for trip #12. We did not celebrate anything but the joy of a real vacation in 1996 but in 2011 we will be celebrating our 20th anniversay!!!

My first visit to Disney World was in 1984 and it was also my daughter's first visit at 18 months old. I remember holding her on my lap on the monorail and looking out and seeing the castle. My husband shot lots of video and we've been back nearly every year since.

First Time to WDW

April 1978, my wife of one year and I went to WDW for the first time.
That first visit became the beginning of 24 additional visits over the years.
My 2 boys grew up with Disney and visit with their girlfriends now. We will be back Dec. 5 for another visit. The anticipation is growing. We will celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary and my 68 birthday while there. :xmas: :sohappy:

My first trip to WDW was when I was 8 back in 1986. It was our spring break trip - we were not celebrating anything. I remember a lot from this trip but remember even more from our second trip when I was 13. I have been pretty much hooked since my first trip! I remember LOVING Figment and Horizons - At 8 those were my favorite rides. I loved Epcot more than Magic Kingdom.

First time was December 1971, on a trip to Miami for the Orange Bowl. It was just a stop along the way, like Saratoga Springs. I guess we were celebrating Christmas.

Must've been in... '92? I was three. I guess we went for my birthday. My birthday is in mid-June. We went at some point during the summer between June and July. I don't really remember.

I was what you could call a "deprived child" (jk). I never had the pleasure of hitting up the world as a kid. My first trip was as a 23 year old man, during the Flower and Garden Festival. We stayed at the All Star Sports for 6 nights 7 days. Looking back it was the most incredible vacation of my life. In a way I like to look at it that I was lucky to have experienced it as an adult for the first time. See, I can still remember all of those memories from my first trip. The first time i saw the castle, my first time on Splash and Space.

This trip was also very special because i decided to propose to my girlfriend, which I did during Wishes in front of the castle ( I know I know, unoriginal, but as a Disney rookie and 1st timer, for me it was original). Ever since that trip I have been hooked

We moved to Florida in June of '89 when I was 14, first trip to Disney World was in October of that year. Wen't to each park a few times in the three years we lived in FL and then we moved back to WA in '92. Took my family back in Dec. '08 and quickly realized I didn't remember much from when I was a teenager. I remembered the rides but didn't appreciate the magic when I was young and just running around with friends.

Summer of 1977. That year we were in the southern portion of the "See America Tour" in the harvest gold accented RV. I was 4 so it was by far my favorite roadside attraction. I wanted to live in it's a small world.
