I went to Disney on my honeymoon without the kids for the first time (yes, had kids before I was married). Anyway, it was AWESOME without the kids. We were able to get going SO much earlier in the morning without having to worry about getting kids ready. We did all the adult rides. We were able to hit the Polynesian bar at night for cocktails. It was also nice to drink wine while walking around World Showcase. It was my most enjoyable trip even though I had a cloud of guilt hanging over my head the whole time for not bringing them. It was nice to enjoy shopping and dinner without whining.:ROFLOL:

My kids are now in College so my wife and I end up going to Disney with out kids most of the time now. We love it, though it is still great to bring the kids. We love Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk. It is a dueling piano bar. The perfomers do a great job getting the crown involved and they extremely are talented too. The Big River Grill and Brewing Works, also at the Boardwalk, has a great variety of beer and is also a favorite as ours. We also like the Adventurers Club (AC) at Pleasure Island. There are several different show that go on through out the night, so you can make an evening out of the AC alone. Pleasure Island has several restaurants and dance clubs as well. There is plenty to do with out kids. Take advantage of the time.

We went to Disney without the kids in Oct. 2005 and it was great. I love my kids but, Disney is just so much more relaxing without them. Everytime I heard a little kid cry or have a tantrum all I could think of was :sohappy: yay, it's not my kid! We were a group of 8 adults, (me, my DH, my 2 sis and their Dh's and sis friend and her DH) our age range was 25 to 52 and we had a blast. We even went to the MNSSHP. I say go and enjoy yourself and don't worry about the kids they will be fine!

We were JUST there without the kiddos! We also stayed at POFQ. It was wonderful! Our kidless highlights included:

Dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table seated near the big windows during the fireworks. They dim the lights and the views are wonderful.

Keys to the Kingdom Tour. Words just don't describe it. The tour was incredible. Insightful, sentimental, fun, and enlightening. Can't say enough about it.

Lunch w/an Imagineer. The food at the Brown Derby was fantastic. The conversation with our Imagineer and fellow-fans was great. We have a whole new appreciation for so many things just from this experience. Well worth every dime.

Have fun! We sure did!

We did our first trip without DS in Sept. 07. I felt guilty the 1st day...Oh he would love this or that....but after that I (we) thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We sat in Mexico having Margaritas not having to run here, there or yonder for another ride. When we walked into the Magic Kingdom, on the spur of the moment, my DH suggested we do MNSSHP for the 1st time. We had a blast!! We will be going again Dec. 08, just the 2 of us, and will be going to MVMCP for the 1st time. We seem to be doing alot of 1st time things now that DS is in college. :ROFLOL:

The wife and I went a few years ago by ourselves, we told the boys we were going to her cousins in NC, and we suddenly were in WDW. We didn't really feel guilty but we brought back guilt gifts tho. My wife said something about doing it again but we'll have to see because we are planning to go on the cruise for our 20th so money may be a problem.

Now that our kids are older, working, married and just starting families of their own, it is impossible to get everyone together.Their work schedules alone did not allow us to all go at the same time and now the oldest just had a son in April and our daughter is expecting a son in September. Needless to say, we did Disney on our honeymoon, when the kids were little and then went with them three times when they marched at MK.

But Disney is just not for the little kids but us "big Kids". My husband and I have been going for the past 11 years to the F&W without kids and then go back in the spring for the Flower & Garden and it is great. We can eat in the "adult" restaurants, move at our own pace, sleep in, do tours (Keys to the Kingdom is great). We spend time in MK and then take the boat ride over to the Floridian and have a drink and go back. Go to the Adventurers Club, have a nice lunch at Fulton Crab House, go to the spa, make reservations at Le Cellier, Yachtsman Steak House or Narcossis (sp?). When people say Disney is for little kids that is so not true. I still love seeing all the characters and having pictures with them. Enjoy your trip just the two of you!

You see Disney through different stages of your life and someday we will see Disney through the eyes of our grandchildren but now it is great seeing it as an adult.

I have a 4 and 3 year old and one due in 10 weeks. I am just drooling over the though to heading to WDW with my DH ALONE!! Heck just the bathroom alone would be great. After my first I could not imagine going anywhere with out them now, I can't wait. We canceld our Bounce Back Free Dining when we found out about #3 coming in August so DH promised me a trip with out the kids or at least a couple of nights in the parks with out them.
AAHHH a walk around World Showcase without crying and a stroller battle....

When we took our first trip last year as an adult only trip, it was a blast. We ate at Le Cellier in Cananda and similar places that of course had lots of kiddos present but with a little better food. Try places that perhaps you haven't been able to in the past and don't forget to visit Downtown after dark.

My wife and I will be heading to WDW without the "kids" this November as we celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We are not feeling guilty at all, mainly because our kids are old enough that they have both been to WDW many times without us! In fact, we are half expecting to get a knock on our resort room door and having them show up to "surprise" us.

We are both looking forward to just "being in WDW." No hurry to get from one ride to another. Just strolling hand-in-hand... stopping to peoplewatch... enjoying the ambience of such a wonderful place, especially at the beginning of the Christmas season. :xmas: We can't wait!

That was so us when we did the kidless thing. It was the first time really strolled each country..slowly..hand-in-hand. It was so nice. Just last night I was telling the hubby how cool that was to me. It was a whole different pace from when we take the kiddos. So now we're thinking when we go back in December we may plan at least 1 dinner without them...considering my mom will be there and I'm sure a Nana Night will be expected by all. LOL!
