Trip Report 10 days in Disneyland Paris

Hi all, I read the reports here since last year and last week I decided to be a member so I can comment to trip reports from all of you! Since I am European I am more in Disneyland Paris than in the other parks throughout the world. When I was 18 (long long time ago......) I was in Florida and stayed in Walt Disney World for about 4 days.... Disneyland Paris I have been about 25 times.... Me and my family are in for the 8th consecutive annual passportfor Paris and I am a shareholder for Disneyland Paris. Last month we had a 8-day trip to Disneyland Paris. I cannot descibe every day of the trip but we have a lot of pictures and would love to share them with all of you.

I also will post pictures from earlier trips to DLP in the Photo of the day thread:

Disneyland Paris 20-07-2013 / 28-07-2013

So here we start! Each year we are in DLP for about 4 or 5 weekends and the last 5 years we also spent a part of our summer holidays in the park. Until this year we each summer book a camping ground, which is nice. The only thing was it is a 20 minute drive to DLP every time we go. So if you wanna fresh up you have to take the car each time. This year we thought, hey lets rent a appartment nearby DLP. So we did. Only 5 minutes from DLP, so plenty of opporunities to go back to the appartment when we need to do so.

Weather reports were OK for the period we were in DLP. In the end they were too good. All 8 days we had a minimum temperature of 35 Celsius (95 Fahrenheit) and when you walked in the sun for a long time temperature was above 43 Celsius (109.4 Fahrenheit). So we had a hot 8 days! The hottest in our DLP history!

Who were on the trip this time:

Me (Michel, 42), my wife (Ria, 43), our daugther (Sacha, 16)

We departed from Rotterdam, the Netherlands in the middle of the night at 04.00. Since the drive to Paris is about 4.5 hours we were in DLP around 08.30 in the morning! A perfect time. First thing we did was going to Earls in Disney Village (Downtown Disney for DLP). Sorry no pics of that. After the breakfast off course we went to Starbucks, since I am a real SB addict!

Me in line for our Frappucino's!

And me in front of my favourite coffee shop in the world :)

After we completed our breakfast and coffee it was time to walk around Disney Village. Off course to check if there were new items since our last trip (April 2013). We ended our shopping round at World of Disney, the lasted addition to DV. In the next couple of months a new shop will be opened, LEGO. They say it will be the biggest LEGO shop in Europe.

Then it was time to go to Walt Disney Studios.

Ria managed to take a picture without the walking people :)

Goodmorning (in the Netherlands is 08.00) all,

Here some other pictures of our 8-day DLP trip this summer.

The next morning we were quite early at DLP. It all looks empty and a big difference if you were there 2 hours later.

Since 3 years I am shareholder of DLP. When you have more than 30 shares of Disney (these days around 8 € per share) you can become member of the shareholdersclub. You get yourself a memebership card (creditcard format), you can have some discounts in the park and on the annual passes. Furthermore you can go to Salon Mickey every day between 09.00 and 12.00. You can bring 3 relatives with you and inside you can have some coffee or tea and some light food (next trip I will take pictures from the inside).

Then it was time for one of our favorite attractions. Pirates of the Carrabean. A lot of people are discussing around the internet that DLP is so behind on the other Disney Parks in the world. In DLP there is still no Captain Jack addition. On the other hand you can say that DLP is the only park with the attration in its old fashioned way!

During the walk to POC we off course passed the ship of Captain Hook :)

ship_01.jpg

Standing there you also can catch a glimp of the castle between the trees:

castle view_01.jpg

Then it was time for POC again. During the early mornings you don't have to wait long. Later in the day the waiting lines will go 45 minutes or +. Later in the evening the waiting line is again short, so when you are in DLP and want to go in POC. Be early of late :)

We took some pictures inside POC. Off course it is not allowed to flash... but hey... its the only way to make some decent pictures :)

Thanks for the pictures! Dreams really is an amazing show.

Much more pictures are comming :) And you are absolutely right! Dreams is amazing. The nicest thing is that they can and will change part of the show with new videos, or replace parts of the show with other movies :)

The next picture needs a story :) Me and Ria married on August 20th in 2010. Our wedding invitations were Beauty and the Beast cards, imported from USA. From a friend we received below statue. Only thing was my name dissappeared behind the ear of Minnie. So the next visit we brought our gift to DLP and asked of the could change it so we could read everything. It was not a problem at all, they replaced the glass heart with a new one.

And then, to our surprise, the next visit we found out that they used the 'old, wrong' one in their shop! So every visiter now can see Ria & Michel :) Isn't that nice from DLP!!

So this is the next part of our trip report! Much more to come in the next couple of days!

Hope you enjoy everything!

And off course I will continue with the trip report from DLP summer 2013. Although it's the last one for today :) So after the next 10 pictures you have to wait till tomorrow for the next part.

Star Tours in DLP is still on old fashion style. So far no Star Tours 2.0 for us Disney fans in DLP. Rumours are going that after Ratatouille is complete and in action Star Tours will be next to get the 2.0 injection. On the other hand there are rumours (we even saw some drawings in the internet) that DLP will be the first Disney park in the world with a real Star Wars Land. But all are rumours and nothing is confirmed yet. And a couple of weeks ago there was a message on the internet that Ratatouille will be the last addition for a while. WDC USA (main shareholder) has frozen all plans for the future in DLP for some time. People say because they are developing a master plan for DLP, and other people say that they wanna buy all the shares back to get 100% complete control of DLP and then a new masterplan. We'll see what the future brings. Fact is that the plane in the picture absolutely needs some paint :)

Waiting in line for Haunted Mansion gives a beautiful view to some parts of the park. Off course Bug Thunder Mountain gives the best view since its on the other side of the water :)

In the end of the 90's and the early 00's you were able to buy a tile from Disney. The street in front of DLP is covered with this tiles with the names of the buyers on it. Sacha found an almost similar name :)

The 20th birthday of DLP was in April 2012, but they extended the party so still there are a lot of signs for the birthday in- and outside the park.

20 sign.jpg

A couple of times (around 6 or 8) a day there is a character experss riding in Main Street. It stops at the central square in front of the castle. There the guests can take pictures and autographes of these characters.

And tomorrow I will continue again with much more pictures of DLP!
