I'm inclined to agree with @ᗩLᘿᑕ ֊ᗩζᗩᗰ as something about the scale and forced perspective feels really, really off. Also, the finishes on some of the buildings are just wrong. It's like when you see someone make a cartoon character costume completely out of shiny satin because it can replicate the flat, saturated colors of animation, but it just looks cheap in practice because real clothes aren't constructed that way.
New Groove has one original song. Nemo has zero. I think that proves that an IP doesn't need to be a musical to have a stage musical version at the parks.
I think people here haven't actually seen Zootopia; they're going off what they've read on the Internet. Zootopia does not look like a city humans would build for themselves.

Who is "we"? I've suggested exactly that for as long as the franchise has been earmarked for AK as a way to possibly shoehorn it in with minimal disruption. That still doesn't make it a great fit if you basically have to have the characters commenting on a world and a reality that is not their own, and it generally negates any argument for building out a larger land in the image of Zootopia.That's what we've been trying to tell you!
I have admittedly not seen the film in quite some time, but isn't going feral essentially the result of drug-induced psychosis? Certain natural animal traits are framed as undesirable based on the human ethics and morality of the decidedly not-animal characters.
I don't know what the internet is saying about it nor do I really care. I do know what Rohde said about it relative to Animal Kingdom, and I also know that while it can be positioned to work on some level, it's always going to be a pretty extreme stretch for the sole purpose of fulfilling the IP mandate.

That is not what AK is. While Pandora and Beastly Kingdomme (as proposed) are fantasy, they still portray their inhabitant fantasy fauna as behaving in a way consistent with the animals that do exist in our world (essentially using cryptozoological standards), and they are juxtaposed with a human presence (RDA settlers in Pandora, presumably medieval humans in Beastly) to explore the relationship between them.
Surely there are other IPs that would fit better in Animal Kingdom than Indiana Jones and Encanto, if we HAD to use an IP or two.
Of course, but Encanto”has” to go somewhere and it was DAK’s turn for a new land. It’s better than Cars, Villains, or Monsters Inc would be in DAK, so I do think Vaughn made lemonade out of lemons here.
As Beastly was never fully realized we don't know what it would have entailed. So it seemingly could have included the fantastical idea of sentient animals that walk and talk like humans do.
What was developed has been known for some time. There is no evidence to support the idea that it might have taken a very dramatic turn in its conceptualization.
Maybe, maybe not. I don't think its a far stretch to think that they could have gone from potentially talking dragons and such to other sentient animals more akin to Zootopia. But guess we'll never really know from that perspective.
Here’s my opinion this project should have started happening in 2022 and should have had an up ride instead of encanto it would have been a better fit for animal kingdom and would have filled the same family ride role in the parks lineup but encanto is what’s happening and I’m still very excited to see a great movie get its own ride!
