Yeti is indeed being fixed! Update 8/4/2014

As much as I would like to give you more info, I cannot find a way of doing it or answering your specific questions in any way that would not directly finger people that do not wish to be involved in this discussion :-) I am not going to be baited into going there. I can just say it all came...

Yeti is indeed being fixed! Update 8/4/2014

Yeti's hair is custom made and is composed of three different types of animal hair, only one of which is Yak's hair. Regarding the WDI warranty claim part of the post. WDI will usually only pay for problems encountered during the first year of operation. Yeti started to crack virtually from...

Yeti is indeed being fixed! Update 8/4/2014

So long as the people counter keeps counting like crazy and guests keep riding the park will never fork over the cash for a totally new figure. A possible limited motion "B" show with some arm movement is frequently discussed but that has also never gone anywhere.

Yeti is indeed being fixed! Update 8/4/2014

That is not what I said. I did not say that chrome moly could not be welded. I said that "Heat treated" chrome moly cannot be welded without affecting the heat treatment. Welding produces heat! In essence, by repairing the crack you cause it to weaken, which eventually leads to it failing...

Yeti is indeed being fixed! Update 8/4/2014

To answer your question. Garner Holt had nothing to do with Yeti. However, the engineer responsible for Yeti's structural design has passed away. At a fairly young age I might add. Yeti was also the first figure to be completely modeled on a computer in order to calculate forces, stressed...

Yeti is indeed being fixed! Update 8/4/2014

Be weary of information you get from "Cast Members". CM's are usually not kept in the loop when it comes to any major decisions. I hate to disappoint you, but there is currently no work being done with regards to a permanent fix. Yeti is in an indefinite holding pattern. Yeti's structural...

Yeti is indeed being fixed! Update 8/4/2014

Yeti repairs No source. Lets just say the information is not second hand. And Yeti will never be what has been described as "A" mode again. Any repair that returns the figure to some "limited" motion is all that is being considered right now. No final decisions have been made as to how...

I hate to disappoint you, but the Yeti figure is not being fixed at this time. He is undergoing an imaging scan study by engineering in order to verify and update blueprints in case of a future repair.

    Yeti news

Not sure when you say the "base" of the Yeti what you are referring to. Yeti is mounted from the pelvis to a boom arm in the rear that moves on a set of very large mechanical slides. His Pelvis is what keep developing stress cracks and is of greatest concern. Not to say that he doesn't break...

    Yeti news

Yeti sits underneath a large overhead crane with a lift parked off to the left of the track. The plan to restore partial movement to Yeti is one of many under consideration and they are all at this point blue sky ideas being floated around. As is the option of taking him apart and dropping him...

    Yeti news

Yeti was made static mostly because large structural components kept cracking from fatigue and stress, time and time again. However, this was not the only problem. Yeti's arm moves over the ride path. On several occasions, small parts from inside the figure came loose, made their way down the...

    Hopper animatronic figure video?

Does anyone have a high quality video of Hopper at the 'Tough to Be a Bug' show at Disney's Animal Kingdom park in Florida, recorded in 2005 or prior? Any footage from when the park first opened is most desirable. Camera position should be the right side of the screen; in front of the figure...
