News Walt Disney Company plans to spend $17 billion at Walt Disney World over the next ten years

Some ideas that would be nice to see Disney spend some of that $17 Billion on... EPCOT 1) Create a good version Imagination with Figment (I know the original will not come back, but was so much better) 2) Do something with Wonders of Life (sitting empty for decades is so sad) 3) Mission space...

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to permanently close this fall

I am sure it is no coincidence that they are writing it off during their fiscal Q3/Q4 2023 (ending Sept 30th) and ending all "cruises" on Sept 30th. I am sure that is meant to help from a tax side off during this fiscal year. They want as much tax credit in this year as they can get as this...

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to permanently close this fall

Fans want the George Lucas Start Wars experience, not the Star Wars trilogy created by Kathleen Kennedy. If they give the fans what they want, they will come in droves and willingly spend plenty of money. Just look at Harry Potter at Universal - straight out of the movies and fans of all ages...

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to permanently close this fall

If they fully depreciate it then the asset is only worth salvage value on its balance sheet until it is scrapped.

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to permanently close this fall

Since they are writing it off completely as fully depreciated by the end of September, then I would imagine it will be bulldozed/demolished just like they had to do with the Harmonious barges. Otherwise they would keep depreciating it like many other construction projects over a period of many...

With Disneyland Paris now allowing character meetings with no physical distancing constraints, I would imagine WDW can't be too far behind. Maybe in time for Sprint break the week of March 13th?

What is the mask usage in the parks now? 1-5%?

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I wonder if this thread will make it to 5000 pages? With COVID declining at a rapid rate, mask requirements removed for the vaccinated at WDW and the only place masks are required are on enclosed transportation, the topic is nearly not a topic of conversation for much longer. Let's hope it...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Anyone heard of how things are in the parks today? Must be a lot of smiling faces people can now see indoors without a mask covering them. And of course, we can now see the looks and expressions of frustrated parents with screaming kids - LOL...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I’m guessing that when Disney World drops the mask mandate for vaccinated individuals tomorrow, the number of people that will be wearing masks indoors at WDW will likely be less than 25%. Will cast members still be required to wear a mask indoors?

What is the criteria in BC the government is looking for to say they can drop mask mandates indoors and to stop requiring vaccine passports?

I wonder how exactly Disneyland will enforce that requirement? Maybe just a CYA from the lawyers.

This weekend my daughter was scheduled to start the softball season. They begin with a parade around the fields with all 600 girls. It has started to rain a little just as the kids got on the field and many had umbrellas. Then - big clap of thunder. The kids scattered like ants and all ran...

It has to be lawyers being the ones who say “masks off for vaccinated only” knowing full well they will not even try to enforce that policy. It is a charade to have rules like this or that is for “vaccinated only” with no intentions to check anyone. Just stop the games already.

Masks have not been mandated in TX since last May and our curve is similar to other states that have just or have not yet removed masks mandates. Cases here in Harris County have fallen off a cliff and continue to do so.
